About the role
As a Shift Supervisor, you will lead critical power-generation, thermomechanical treatment, boiler, steam-system, turbine-generator, and control-room operations while building a skilled, safety-first team. This is an opportunity to help generate power safely and efficiently while developing a cross-trained operations workforce.
Reworld is an award-winning thermomechanical treatment (TTF) operator committed to safe operations, environmental stewardship, and keeping waste out of landfills. Our facilities convert waste into energy and generate reliable power while meeting rigorous safety and environmental standards.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Shift Supervisor is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the facility during an assigned shift, including monitoring boilers, turbines, and the steam plant. The Shift Supervisor routinely tours the plant and oversees personnel while operating in accordance with all safety regulations, environmental limits, permits, and plant procedures. During emergencies or unusual operations, the Shift Supervisor may direct or personally perform required operations and coordinate all personnel involved.
This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus.
Duties and Responsibilities Include
- Maintain a safe working environment for all personnel and ensure policies and procedures are followed safely and efficiently.
- Approve requests to remove equipment from service for maintenance or other purposes; ensure equipment is properly cleared and tagged; and issue safety permits in accordance with plant procedures.
- Maintain the plant within all environmental limits and permits.
- Provide emergency responses to injuries or accidents.
- Direct completion of shifts, daily, weekly, and monthly checks.
- Maximize operational performance across all aspects of the facility.
- Troubleshoot plant operational issues.
- Coordinate maintenance activities.
- Complete projects assigned by the Operations Manager.
- Train and manage a motivated, flexible, cross-trained, and technically capable workforce.
- Lead technical training and development for personnel on the assigned shift.
- Maintain administrative personnel records.
- Work a rotating 12-hour schedule alternating day and night shifts, with overtime as needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Three or more years of supervisory experience in power generation or resource recovery plant operations.
- Demonstrated hands-on supervisory experience with high-performing teams, high-pressure boilers, electric-generation equipment, steam systems, and plant operations.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret administrative periodicals, technical procedures, regulations, operating instructions, and plant documentation.
- Ability to write reports and correspondence and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and subordinates in English.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percentages; and draw and interpret graphs.
- Ability to take appropriate safe action independently to prevent equipment damage or personnel injury during emergencies or unusual situations.
Shift & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work on 12-hour rotating shifts (the DuPont Plan)
- Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb ladders and stairs.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Ability to qualify for and wear a full-face respirator.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay Transparency
Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The range below reflects Reworld’s reasonable estimate of base pay for this role based on primary posting location. It is expected that most qualified candidates in this location will fall within the posting range. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable). Pay ranges are reviewed from time to time and may be modified in the future.
The pay range for the primary location of this position is: $99,000.00 - $141,500.00 USD per annum
