About Netskope
Today, there's more data and users outside the enterprise than inside, causing the network perimeter as we know it to dissolve. We realized a new perimeter was needed, one that is built in the cloud and follows and protects data wherever it goes, so we started Netskope to redefine Cloud, Network and Data Security.
Since 2012, we have built the market-leading cloud security company and an award-winning culture powered by hundreds of employees spread across offices in Santa Clara, St. Louis, Bangalore, London, Paris, Melbourne, Taipei, and Tokyo. Our core values are openness, honesty, and transparency, and we purposely developed our open desk layouts and large meeting spaces to support and promote partnerships, collaboration, and teamwork. From catered lunches and office celebrations to employee recognition events and social professional groups such as the Awesome Women of Netskope (AWON), we strive to keep work fun, supportive and interactive. About the role
Please note, this team is hiring across all levels and candidates are individually assessed and appropriately leveled based upon their skills and experience.
As a Senior Staff Endpoint Client Engineer, you own the high-performance C++ client at the heart of the product: lightweight, high-throughput, cross-platform, and never allowed to break a user’s session. You own that runtime and the distributed systems around it, engineering for performance, security, and resilience at scale on real user devices, and you set the technical bar for the endpoint codebase.
What’s in it for you
- Own the hot path. Everything the product does runs through your runtime. Correctness, latency, security, and resource footprint are yours.
- Systems problems that are actually hard. Concurrency, cross-platform delivery (macOS, Windows, mobile), and building a secure, resilient agentic harness on real user devices.
- Real scale to build against. Netskope’s customer footprint lets you deploy, validate, and harden your runtime against production usage fast.
What you will be doing
- Build and harden the C++ client runtime at the core of the product: lightweight, multi-threaded, cross-platform (macOS first, then Windows).
- Architect the distributed systems that keep it fast and resilient at scale, engineering for fault tolerance so failures degrade gracefully rather than breaking a session.
- Build a secure agentic harness for safe, high-performance execution.
- Own reliability, observability, security, and performance of the runtime across real, varied hardware, and set patterns and standards for the endpoint codebase.
- Partner with ML engineers to embed the inference path and with backend engineers on configuration and telemetry.
Required skills and experience
- 10+ years of overall industry experience, with 6+ years shipping and sustaining production C++ (C++11 and later - 14/17/20): multi-threaded, memory-conscious, cross-platform code.
- Solid distributed systems fundamentals: routing, failover, backpressure, graceful degradation, and the failure modes that come with them.
- Deep experience building and sustaining endpoint, client, or systems software.
- Expertise with data structures, algorithms, and performance profiling.
- Fluency with agentic coding systems and genuine curiosity about agent harnesses like Claude Code, Pi, and Codex, so you use them in your own workflow and want to build the harness, not just the app.
- Strong verbal and written communication; able to work openly and transparently with the team.
Education
- BS Computer Science or equivalent required; MS Computer Science or equivalent strongly preferred.
