Job Description
The Craft Manager overseeing the NMS Rigging personnel will:
  • Oversee daily rigging operations throughout the NMS facility y by maintaining a high-performance standard, setting expectations, and holding staff accountable. Be responsible for managing the senior leadership assignments and monitoring the productivity of each project. Must have a strong sense of Safety, Productivity and Quality assurance, as well as provide technical assistance, and generally manage multiple levels of direct reports within the Shop.
  • Key areas of focus will be to review, revise and develop process procedures within the ship that will align with the safety as a core value.
  • Required to work with direct reports to develop and/or review project schedules and budgets during the planning phase.
  • Allocating personnel and resources to efficiently support all contracts (including shift work).
  • Oversee and monitor schedule performance, including review of ongoing and upcoming projects, investigation of late activities, project supervision, and the development of practical solutions.
  • Monitor and evaluate project budget performance, including review of ongoing and upcoming projects, development of productivity enhancements and investigation of over-budget items.
  • Perform personnel related functions including, but not limited to, the supervision of employees, performance management, workforce reductions, promotions, demotions, and discipline.
  • Ensure that employees understand and adhere to Company policies.
  • Train and motivate employees in the areas of technical knowledge, safety, environmental and communication.
  • Ensure that requirements of the labor agreement are satisfied.
  • Work a variety of shifts (1st shift 7:15 am to 4:00 pm, 2nd shift 4:00 pm to 12:30 am, 3rd shift 11:45 pm – 7:45


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of trade related experience in the maritime industry or equivalent.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of managerial experience
  • Core competancy to demonstrate technical knowledge associated with schedule and budget adherence..
  • Proficient computer skills required including experience with Microsoft Office programs and similar software.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.


Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Knowledge of NAVSEA standard items.
Commerial and ABS experience a plus.
Pre-solicitation resource estimating.

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $92180 - $156707

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
