Accountabilities:

    The Senior Director, Global Medical Affairs Hematology Lead will oversee the development and execution of global medical strategies, ensuring alignment with scientific objectives, patient needs, and business priorities. This role will lead cross-functional initiatives, build external partnerships, and guide evidence-generation efforts across the product lifecycle.

    • Lead, mentor, and develop a global medical hematology team, fostering strong performance, talent development, succession planning, and organizational effectiveness.
    • Develop and execute comprehensive global medical affairs strategies for hematology assets, including marketed products, pipeline programs, and lifecycle opportunities.
    • Serve as a senior medical representative in global strategic, governance, and cross-functional teams, influencing long-term scientific and evidence-generation strategies.
    • Support clinical development planning, integrated evidence generation plans, and lifecycle strategies for assigned assets and indications.
    • Translate clinical, scientific, patient, payer, and healthcare system insights into actionable medical strategies and plans.
    • Build and manage external stakeholder engagement strategies involving healthcare professionals, scientific leaders, advocacy groups, payers, regulators, and healthcare decision makers.
    • Guide medical affairs studies, evidence-generation activities, publication strategies, and scientific communication initiatives.
    • Partner with regional teams to address local needs while maintaining alignment with global medical priorities.
    • Provide scientific input into value communication strategies, treatment positioning, and access initiatives.
    • Lead advisory boards, congress activities, and scientific meetings to strengthen external engagement and knowledge exchange.
    • Monitor performance metrics, evaluate strategic effectiveness, and drive continuous improvement across medical initiatives.
    • Ensure all medical activities comply with applicable regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
    • Collaborate across medical, clinical, regulatory, safety, commercial, access, and operational teams to advance patient-focused solutions.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is a strategic medical affairs leader with extensive experience in hematology, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical environments. They should demonstrate strong scientific expertise, executive presence, and the ability to influence complex global organizations.

      • Doctorate degree with 5+ years of medical affairs or clinical development experience in the relevant therapeutic area; or a Master’s degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; or a Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience.
      • MD, DO, PhD, or PharmD preferred, with advanced specialty training or board certification where applicable.
      • 5+ years of leadership experience within medical affairs, clinical research, or related biopharmaceutical functions.
      • Strong expertise in malignant hematology, including leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, or related disorders, with knowledge of evolving treatment landscapes.
      • Experience developing and executing integrated evidence generation plans and medical strategies.
      • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence within global, matrixed, and cross-functional organizations.
      • Proven ability to establish relationships with external scientific stakeholders, healthcare providers, patient organizations, payers, and professional organizations.
      • Strong understanding of global regulatory frameworks, Good Clinical Practice standards, and medical affairs guidelines.
      • Knowledge of pharmaceutical development processes, including clinical operations, commercialization, regulatory, safety, access, and medical functions.
      • Ability to synthesize complex scientific, clinical, and business information into clear strategies and actionable plans.
      • Excellent communication, collaboration, strategic planning, and executive leadership skills.
      • Strong scientific judgment, problem-solving ability, and experience managing complex initiatives.
