DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an Engineer II - Manufacturing Industrialization to support manufacturing standards development, process documentation, technology transfer readiness, and industrialization activities across Thermo Fisher Scientific's Contract Manufacturing network.
This role will work under the guidance of senior engineers and the Global CM Documentation & Industrialization Hub leader to develop process documentation, support Bill of Process (BOP) and Bill of Equipment (BOE) activities, maintain engineering templates, and help convert manufacturing knowledge into reusable standards and playbooks.
Key Responsibilities
- Support development and maintenance of manufacturing process standards, work instructions, templates, and industrialization playbooks
- Assist with Bill of Process (BOP) creation, data collection, documentation structure, and governance activities
- Support Bill of Equipment (BOE) data gathering, equipment template creation, and standardization activities
- Participate in technology transfer documentation activities including process flows, routings, standard work, readiness checklists, and action trackers
- Support manufacturing readiness reviews by collecting supplier process information, documentation evidence, and readiness metrics
- Assist senior engineers with process mapping, time studies, capability data collection, and manufacturing risk assessments
- Help identify process improvement opportunities related to standard work, documentation quality, cycle time, yield, and supplier execution
- Maintain manufacturing knowledge repositories, technical standards, and lessons learned in alignment with documentation governance requirements
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Contract Manufacturing partners to resolve documentation gaps and technical follow-ups
- Support root cause analysis, corrective action tracking, and continuous improvement project execution
- Prepare status updates, dashboards inputs, and technical summaries for governance reviews
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Experience supporting manufacturing engineering, process engineering, documentation development, industrialization, or production operations
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to Contract Manufacturing, supplier operations, technology transfer, new product introduction, or production ramp-up activities
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, standard work, process mapping, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools
- Experience developing work instructions, process flows, manufacturing templates, technical documentation, or operational standards
- Familiarity with ERP, PLM, MES, SharePoint, document management systems, or manufacturing data tools
- Understanding of manufacturing readiness, process capability, validation basics, and change control practices
- Strong attention to detail with ability to organize technical information in a clear and reusable format
- Good analytical, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on actions in a matrixed environment
