Job Description

As an Executive Director, Sales – HBV and HDV will report to the VP of Liver and Established Products Business Unit and will lead the National Sales team in support of Gilead’s Hepatitis B (HBV) business and Hepatitis D (HDV). The successful candidate will be a dynamic, experienced individual with a strong track record of commercial success in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry. They will provide strong leadership, strategic and operational skills to deliver strong sales results and team performance within a fast-moving, challenging, and dynamic commercial environment, including new product launch in rare disease and developing a new market.
National Sales lead will manage 6 Regional Directors and ensure team effectively trained on competitive selling skills, product knowledge and corporate policies and procedures. National sales leader will plays a key strategic role in cross-functional leadership team and be responsible for communicating key field insights and driving the sales performance of HBV/HDV products.
How You will make impact:
National Sales Strategy and Liver Leadership and Culture
Define and execute the national sales strategy aligned to BU and brand priorities
Demonstrated ability to communicate business direction and vision to the sales organization
Anticipate and respond to key business opportunities and evolving market dynamics
Identify and pull through growth opportunities and remove barriers to drive performance
Lead high-performing organization of leaders and foster inclusive and accountable and performance driven culture
Develop leadership pipelines and success plans for critical roles
Operational and Execution Excellence
Drive accountability for revenue and key demand and executional metrics
Establish performance management frameworks to drive accountability in B/D portfolio and address gaps
Ensure resource optimization for effective field deployment, structure and budget
Set incentive compensation strategy and field performance goals
Lead field meetings to drive alignment and culture
Partner with marketing, market access, analytics, HR and CL+D to drive customer focus and align execution
Ensures all department personnel are fully informed of, and comply with, Gilead commercial compliance policy, and all applicable federal and state laws and guidance relating to product promotion and information dissemination including, but not limited to, the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, the Food and Drug Administration’s implementing regulations, the Federal Anti-Kickback Statute, the False Claims Act, PhRMA, Corporate Code of Business Conduct and the Office of the Inspector General’s Compliance Program Guidance for Pharmaceutical Manufacturers.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and Fourteen Years’ Experience
OR
Masters' Degree and Twelve Years’ Experience
OR
PhD and Twelve Years’ Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
14+ years pharmaceutical industry experience including sales and marketing leadership
Proven record of product launch, brand growth, multi-product/portfolio sales
Knowledge and experience in rare disease or liver disease preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplines
Proven strategic capabilities with ability to conceive, develop and execute multidimensional business plans
Strong communication skills with experience presenting before executive staff
Experience managing cross-functional teams or work groups as well as direct reports
