Overnight Veterinary Assistant - Critical Care
$22.00–$30.00/hour (DOE) + $5.50/hour Shift Differential (6:00 PM–6:00 AM)

Schedule: Sunday–Wednesday | 10:30 PM–9:00 AM | Four 10-hour overnight shifts

As an Overnight Veterinary Assistant in our Critical Care Unit (CCU) at SAGE Concord, you'll work alongside Emergency and Critical Care specialists, Registered Veterinary Technicians, and experienced support staff to deliver exceptional patient care in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

In Your Day-to-Day You Will
Monitor hospitalized and critical care patients, documenting vital signs and changes in patient condition.
- Provide attentive nursing support and comfort care for critically ill patients.
- Safely restrain and position patients during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Administer oral and topical medications under the direction of veterinarians or Registered Veterinary Technicians.
- Assist with IV fluid preparation, injections, and other treatments as directed.
- Prepare patients and equipment for procedures and diagnostic imaging.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked Critical Care Unit.
- Sanitize cages, kennels, treatment areas, and equipment to maintain a safe hospital environment.
- Assist with equipment setup, cleaning, and routine maintenance.
- Communicate patient observations promptly with veterinarians, RVTs, and the medical team.
- Accurately document treatments, observations, medication logs, and controlled substance records.
- Help maintain inventory and proper storage of medical supplies and pharmaceuticals.
- Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
- Contribute to a positive, collaborative hospital culture.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical veterinary experience; Critical Care or Emergency experience strongly preferred.
- Strong venipuncture, patient handling, and mathematical calculation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm, organized, and compassionate while caring for critically ill patients.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.
- A collaborative mindset and desire to continue learning and growing within veterinary medicine.
