Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as Associate Vice President (AVP) overseeing Business Architecture, Innovation, Business Process Optimization, the TDI roadmap for AI,Automation, and Portfolio Management & Governance. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of demonstrated technical expertise, leadership acumen, and transformation experience to drive enterprise-wide initiatives.

Reporting to the Vice President, Strategy, Customer, Colleague and Performance Enablement, TD Insurance, the individual accountabilities for this role in TDI Insurance include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Business Architecture
  • Steward and enable the business strategy by building and maintaining a prioritized segment roadmap to deliver against the target state capability  model and/or operating model​
  • Support the Customer Journeys by identifying the Features required to achieve their vision and objectives​
  • Define the detailed roadmap for capabilities, research solutions (people, process, technology, data solutions etc.) and support the business by providing recommendations on how to solve for different capability needs.
  • ​Define and maintain enterprise business architecture frameworks aligned with strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure architectural consistency across business units.
  • Support transformation initiatives through architectural guidance and modeling.
  • Business Process Optimization
  • Lead initiatives to analyze, redesign, and optimize business processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Implement process improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Monitor and report on process performance metrics.
  • Automation (Digital Workers)
  • Drive the adoption and implementation of digital workers and robotic process automation (RPA).
  • Identify automation opportunities across business functions.
  • Ensure governance and compliance in automation deployments.
  • Business Delivery of Artificial Intelligence
  • Oversee the delivery of AI solutions that enhance business decision-making and operations.
  • Collaborate with data science and IT teams to align AI initiatives with business needs.
  • Ensure ethical and responsible use of AI technologies.
  • Customer Relationship Management (Salesforce) Enablement
  • Lead the business delivery and adoption of Salesforce solutions.
  • Ensure Salesforce implementations meet business requirements and drive user engagement.
  • Coordinate with IT and vendors for successful deployment and support.
  • Business Incident Management
  • Establish and manage business incident response protocols.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to resolve incidents efficiently to protect business SLAs and productivity
  • Analyze incident trends and implement preventive measures.
  • Governance and Reporting
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, and outcomes.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise governance frameworks and compliance standards.
  • Maintain documentation and dashboards for transparency and accountability.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of General and/or Life Insurance industry experience
  • Proven experience working with senior executives and Board-level stakeholders
  • P&L management expertise with strong financial acumen
  • Strong analytic capability to quantitatively assess opportunity, risk and not afraid to challenge the status quo
  • Has deep understanding and knowledge of the entirety of TDI's operations, P&L, products and strategic levers
  • Strong understanding of AI, digital, and data-driven decisioning
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, including team‐work, facilitation and negotiation
  • Strong leadership skills; Ability to influence at all levels
  • Forward-looking, strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills
