Accountabilities:

    As a Senior Manager, Engineering, you will lead multiple engineering teams through a combination of direct leadership, manager development, and cross-functional collaboration. You will establish strong engineering practices, ensure delivery excellence, and create an environment where teams and leaders continuously grow.

    • Lead, coach, and develop Engineering Managers and Team Leads, helping them strengthen leadership capabilities and improve team performance.
    • Directly manage one or more engineering teams when required, maintaining strong standards for hiring, performance management, delivery, and team health.
    • Establish and maintain consistent hiring, performance, and engineering quality standards across multiple teams.
    • Partner with Product Management and Design leaders to align team objectives, OKRs, KPIs, customer needs, and business priorities.
    • Drive effective cross-team collaboration by managing dependencies, improving execution, and ensuring commitments to stakeholders are achieved.
    • Balance engineering investments across teams based on strategic priorities, business impact, and operational needs.
    • Ensure consistent delivery, reliability, and quality practices across engineering teams while identifying opportunities for improvement.
    • Act as a key leader during major incidents, escalations, and high-priority delivery initiatives requiring coordination across multiple teams.
    • Identify and resolve systemic issues across teams to prevent recurring problems and improve organizational effectiveness.
    • Oversee engineering skills assessments and maturity initiatives to maintain consistent development standards.
    • Promote AI-native engineering practices and adoption of modern tools and workflows across teams.
    • Encourage strong architecture practices, including effective documentation and collaboration with senior technical leaders.
    • Develop future engineering leaders by mentoring Team Leads, Managers, and senior engineers toward expanded responsibilities.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering leader with a proven ability to manage managers, scale engineering organizations, and improve team performance. You should combine strong leadership skills with technical credibility and the ability to influence across product, design, and business functions.

      • 10–15 years of relevant engineering experience with significant experience managing engineering leaders and multiple teams.
      • Proven experience developing Managers, Team Leads, and engineers through coaching, feedback, and career growth initiatives.
      • Strong background leading engineering teams through hiring, performance management, delivery, and organizational change.
      • Experience managing both direct engineering teams and teams through other managers.
      • Demonstrated ability to align engineering priorities with business objectives, customer outcomes, OKRs, and KPIs.
      • Experience driving cross-team collaboration, resolving dependencies, and maintaining delivery commitments.
      • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence executives, technical leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
      • Experience leading engineering teams through complex incidents, escalations, and high-pressure situations.
      • Ability to drive improvements in engineering practices, quality, reliability, and developer productivity.
      • Experience adopting AI-enabled engineering practices, automation, or modern software development workflows.
      • Strong coaching, delegation, and leadership development capabilities.
      • Ability to communicate openly, provide direct feedback, and address challenges proactively.
      • Experience in fintech, payments, lending, or regulated financial technology environments is preferred.
      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
      • Advanced technical degree or relevant graduate education is a plus.
