JOB PURPOSE 

 This role will be responsible for Operational Quality which includes On-line Quality management of manufacturing processes, from material handling to batch making as well as Finished Good Quality Assurance ensuring dispatch of 100% consumer acceptable quality products (CRQS/PQS approach) from the factory With key accountability in executing Digitalization and Quality support to UMS (continuous improvement). You’ll be part of a team that believes in doing work that matters — for people and the planet.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Operational Quality Assurance: 

  • To develop, lead, and drive optimization and Kaizen related to top plant and quality losses.  

  • To maintain, develop, and use operational knowledge of various Digital support systems used for Quality applications.  

  • To define Statistical Process Control methods for use in setting targets and limits for operational areas. Supports innovation funnel activities within the supply chain. Works with internal and external customers of the innovation.  

  • To manage and ensure compliance with the quality management system through communication, training, and internal/external audits at all levels.  

  • To lead data collection, analysis, and assignment to standard Quality loss trees in support of operational KPIs reporting. 

  • To utilize SAP QM and Unilever specifications including SAP PLM & ECC and supports verification of use for quality purposes.  

  • To track and trend consumer complaint data to ensure focused improvement within gaps.  

  • To interpret, apply, and enforce all company policies, programs, regulations, and safety/Environmental rules, report and communicating results, issues, and improvements to relevant stakeholders.  

  • To lead the improvement in packaging materials, reduction of E-incidents and Quality downtimes in production lines. 

  • To ensure that all the making and packing areas comply with the Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and HACCP requirements. 

  • To identify and develop Quality gate controls (Q points / CCPs, etc.,) at every critical stage of receiving, processing, storage, transferring, filling, packaging, and dispatch operations of Material & Finished Goods in the factory along with manufacturing and logistics teams.  

  • To ensure that Quality related projects are being executed on time by following up with project owners  

  • To support the implementation and verification of procedures to control non-conforming materials and products.  

  • To support / participate in structured quality improvement activities related to customer, consumer issues and PQS gaps.  

  • To support implementation and on-going verification of category / technology GMP as applicable to the site.  

  • To support implementing and assessing of on-going compliance to in-take control program for received materials and packaging. 

  • To lead PQS/DSI improvement on shop floor with Quality analysts, Process Engineers, and Operators with respect to monitoring, compliance, reporting and sharing. 

  • To lead in investigation and actions implementation on complaints received from market and Mfg. Q Incident from the production lines. 

  • To monitor and improve KPI and KAI Performance of the department. 

 

Instrumentation and Analytical Support: 

  • To implement and verify site calibration and maintenance program for inspection, measuring and testing equipment. Coordinate performance of lab equipment capability studies. 

  • To develop fool proof processes and procedures to eliminate Quality related defects in production lines and process making areas 

  • Implement SPC (Six sigma approach), Product/Process parameter, PFMEA in making and finishing areas, identifying, recording and eliminating sporadic & chronic losses from the processes 

  • To lead the digitalization in QA Department. 

 

UMS Support: 

  • To Co-lead Quality Pillar activities in UMS and provide additional technical expertise to the factory for trouble shooting quality issues. 

  • To facilitate UMS activities with QM members coordinating with PEs and Technical teams to ensure implementation of Quality Maintenance on Finishing Lines & Making Operations to eliminate defects. 

  • To participate and engage with the team in generating OPLs and KAIZENS for Quality Pillar. 

  • To always ensure and maintain 5S condition in the department (including own workplace) and carry out 5S inspections for quality and process laboratories. 

 

People and Management: 

  • To provide necessary trainings (on-job and classroom sessions) and development needs for Quality Technician and Operators in the areas of Quality, QM and SPC. 

  • To develop the Quality team on inspections, analysis, decision making, reporting, communication, quality, and consumer understanding etc. to enhance their knowledge and skills. 

  • To uplift quality engagement of the employees within factory and work closely with PEs and Operators to develop Quality Culture and consumer mindset 

 

To maintain highest quality standards, ensure safe working practice and care for environment through total compliance with the guidelines and targets set in Health, Safety & Environment, Quality and Consumer Safety, UMS and Customer Service on BUL Factory. 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Engineering Course, preferably Mechanical and Chemical. 

  • Must have a logical and methodical approach on work and fluent in spoken and written Arabic and English. He must have good knowledge of UMS, SPC, six sigma as well as good analytical skills along with computer understanding. 

Team player, good in communication, ability to provide training, have a logical and methodical approach to his work
