Technical Writer (Engineering)
Honeywell’s Security and Access Solutions business provide high-value security products and services that are critical for buildings around the globe. Building operators and security teams across dynamically evolving verticals depend on our mobile- and cloud-enabled technologies for access control, intrusion detection, and locking solutions to help create safer and more efficient facilities.
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing a variety of technical documentation, including user manuals, operating instructions, online help, release notes, knowledge base articles, and product white papers.
• Create and maintain a variety of technical documentation including user manuals, operating instructions, online help, release notes, and knowledge base articles.
• Collaborate with agile teams, including software development, quality assurance, product management, and program management to ensure timely delivery of documentation and localization deliverables.
• Produce infographics, illustrations, and screenshots to effectively illustrate products, features, and workflows.
• Ensure all documentation adheres to departmental style guidelines and contribute to the continuous improvement of these standards.
MUST HAVE
• 3-5 years of experience in technical documentation.
• Bachelor’s Degree with focus in technical writing, communications, engineering, journalism, English, technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience or Associates Degree or Technical/Business School Certificate with 3+ years of experience.
• Exceptional writing, layout, editing, and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills
WE VALUE
• Experience authoring a variety of technical documentation including help, user manuals, operating instructions, release notes, and knowledge base articles.
• Proficiency in HTML, XML, Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Adobe applications and Darwin Information Typing Architecture (DITA).
• Familiarity with writing for localization and desktop publishing of localized materials.
• Knowledge of Agile methodology and tracking software, such as Rally or JIRA.
• Familiarity or certification with security management systems and experience in creating hardware documentation.
