Team overview:

The Asset Protection (AP) Experience Product team is accountable for products and capabilities that help create a secure shopping and working environment for guests and team members while protecting Target’s profitability through strategies that reduce shortage. These experiences support AP workflows across Stores and GSCL locations, including surveillance, shortage leads, documentation, security prevention and resolution, and video-enabled investigation, while also enabling enterprise teams to leverage AP capabilities such as surveillance when needed. Through innovative, integrated, and intuitive user experiences, the team drives outcomes that strengthen AP effectiveness and create value across Target.

Role overview:

As a Sr Product Manager – Shortage Leads, you will lead the product strategy and roadmap for Target’s shortage leads experience, helping AP teams across Stores and GSCL locations identify the most impactful shortage opportunities through signal detection, data-driven exceptions, and aggregated insights. This product area moves teams beyond manual identification and individual line-item exceptions by supporting a more guided, prioritized, and measurable experience across the lead lifecycle, from signal ingestion and prioritization through action, documentation, closure, and outcome measurement.

This role will partner closely with U.S. product leadership, engineering, UX, data science, store and supply chain users, and AP business partners to define how shortage, sensor, POS, operational, and surveillance-related signals are converted into actionable work for AP teams. You will work directly with users to understand their needs, observe how they interact with the product, gather feedback, and continuously improve the experience, efficiency, and satisfaction of teams using shortage leads in their daily work. You will also work closely with the entire AP Experience Product team to develop consistent user experiences and thoughtful integrations across AP workflows, ensuring shortage leads are connected to the right context, evidence, workflows, and outcomes.

You will develop a comprehensive product strategy, related roadmap, and set key business objectives (OKRs) for your respective product and ensure business alignment.  You will need to leverage the knowledge of your product, as well as customer feedback and establish other relevant data points to assess value, develop business cases, and prioritize the direction and desired outcomes. You will work in unison with Engineers, UX designers, Data Scientists / Data Engineering teams and business partners to deliver outcomes.

You will be the “voice of the product” to key stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met, and that the product team is getting the direction and support that it needs to be successful. You will develop and actively understand the market, maintain a product roadmap and backlog outlining the customer themes, epics, and stories while prioritizing the backlog to focus on the highest impact work for your team and stakeholders.

You will encourage the open exchange of information and viewpoints, as well as inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization's direction. You will foster a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles, and partner with product teams across the organization to help them achieve their goals while pursuing and completing yours.
