Job Purpose

The Material Control Supervisor supports the Logistics/Materials Control Department by ensuring all operations including shipping & Receiving, stocking, material preparation, & Cycle Counts are conducted daily and timely, for proper parts inventory, and makes adjustments as necessary to support Production. This position also maintains current inventory and storage infrastructure to optimize space utilization. This position also supports daily operations that support Production and other internal and external customers as needed.

Key Accountabilities

  • Oversee daily operations related to Material Control, resolving issues with material movements, including goods issues, good receipts, and goods movements required with flexibility in hours to support operations
  • Manage Inventory Control warehouse operations including stocking, material preparation, Bin Maintenance, operations to include cycle counts and inventory variance justifications
  • Lead cross functional coordination with procurement and quality to ensure material moves through the Goods receipt process timely
  • Present plans to Senior Management that include optimizing space utilization and commodity storage techniques
  • Provide leadership, guidance and create an environment conducive to teamwork for all team members
  • Ensure Customer Service is realized at all levels
  • Supports company C-TPAT initiatives & serves as the point of contact for material control
  • Maintain operations within the Operation Management System as outlined by Honda Aircraft
  • Report to Manager any anomalies or issues requiring assistance 

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelors’ degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, related field or equivalent experience
  • 3 or more years of leadership experience
  • Working knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Power-point and Excel preferred
  • Knowledge of Inventory Control procedures and techniques preferred
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic environment
  • Exhibit strong decision making capability
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated Process improvement 

Working Conditions

  • Ability to move throughout the facility, including walking, standing, bending, and climbing stairs or ladders.
  • Occasionally lift or move items up to 10 lbs. independently; heavier items may be handled with assistive equipment.
  • Operate in a warehouse environment with exposure to noise, temperature changes, and odors.
  • Communicate clearly in English and use standard office and warehouse technology.
  • Maintain safety and regulatory compliance while adapting to operational needs, including occasional extended hours.
