Technical Program Managers play a vital role in Akamai's success by leading projects and creating processes to enhance performance and satisfaction.
As a Technical Program Manager II, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing and coordinating complex, cross-functional programs with multiple projects, fostering organizational change, process improvements, or technological advancements.
- Providing strategic guidance to teams and stakeholders, anticipating challenges through scenario planning, and mitigating potential issues to meet objectives.
- Developing successful partnerships with IT, product and program stakeholders across the organization
- Evolving operational frameworks and standardizing program management practices to align with organizational requirements.
- Generating regular status updates, preparing executive briefs, and presenting complex technical information or risk considerations clearly to executive leadership.
- Exhibiting a proactive ownership mindset by independently driving projects from start to finish, including coordinating resources, schedules, and addressing obstacles.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have a High School / Bachelor's degree in Technical, Business, alongside demonstrated experience in effectively managing and completing intricate technical initiatives
- Possess extensive technical program management expertise, including marketing knowledge, with a minimum of eight of experience in the field.
- Show expertise using enterprise project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Smartsheet) to monitor milestones and enhance program workflows.
- Demonstrate a deep, practical understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to effectively manage complex technical dependencies and optimize delivery workflows
- Possess experience in Identifying and managing project dependencies while maintaining accurate project plans with real-time milestones
- Be able to translate complex technical jargon and system architecture constraints into clear, actionable business impacts for senior stakeholders
- Have good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills needed to work across global constituencies
