Accountabilities:

    The Principal Biostatistician Team Lead will oversee biostatistical operations, provide technical leadership, and ensure high-quality statistical support for clinical research initiatives. This role requires a balance of advanced analytical expertise, team development, project oversight, and strategic collaboration across research teams.

    • Lead and mentor a team of biostatisticians, data managers, data entry specialists, and programmers by providing guidance, performance support, and professional development opportunities.
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of statistical activities across multiple research projects and complex clinical studies.
    • Provide expert consultation on study design, sample size calculations, data collection methods, randomization strategies, statistical modeling, and analytical approaches.
    • Review and guide statistical programming, database management, data extraction, and data analysis activities to ensure accuracy and quality.
    • Serve as a primary statistical resource and point of contact for investigators, researchers, and interdisciplinary teams.
    • Ensure compliance with research protocols, standard operating procedures, regulatory requirements, and sponsor expectations.
    • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management, and career development initiatives for statistical team members.
    • Collaborate with leadership to assess resource needs, allocate workloads, and develop budgets for statistical support activities.
    • Promote continuous learning by organizing training sessions, seminars, and professional development opportunities.
    • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders through effective communication and collaboration.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an experienced biostatistics leader with a strong background in medical research, statistical methodology, and team management. You should have the ability to translate complex research questions into effective analytical strategies while mentoring others and managing large-scale projects.

      • Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
      • Extensive experience applying statistical methods within medical research, clinical trials, or healthcare-related studies.
      • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience mentoring and developing technical teams.
      • Demonstrated expertise in statistical methodology, study design, analytical modeling, and interpretation of research data.
      • Proficiency with standard statistical software and tools used for advanced data analysis.
      • Knowledge of database systems and data management practices to support effective data extraction and utilization.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex statistical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
      • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
      • Preferred Qualifications:

        • 15+ years of experience as a statistician in medical research environments, preferably supporting clinical trials.
        • Experience leading biostatistical teams within academic, healthcare, or research organizations.
