Environmental Test (ET) is an engineering organization that supports all programs across Raytheon. The ET organization provides testing capability for every phase of the product life cycle from prototype to production. Environmental testing includes mechanical shock, electrodynamic vibration, salt fog, climatic environments such as temperature, altitude, and humidity, high temperature quartz lamp testing, structural testing, test fixture design, and custom instrumentation installations and data acquisition and imaging support.
Environmental Test is seeking a skilled Test Data Imaging Support Technician to provide comprehensive imaging support for a wide range of test activities. This role is responsible for capturing high‑quality test data using high‑speed and standard‑speed video, as well as still photography.
The Imaging Support Technician will work as part of an Integrated Product (IP) Team, collaborating closely with test engineers, support personnel, and internal engineering customers. The selected candidate will contribute to the planning, design, and execution of imaging solutions that meet complex and evolving test requirements. Key responsibilities include camera and equipment setup, control and monitoring, data collection, and post‑test data verification to ensure accuracy and completeness.
This role also involves diagnosing and resolving technical issues with photographic and video equipment, ensuring reliable operation and high‑quality data output throughout testing activities.
- This position is an onsite role located in Tucson, AZ.
- Requires proficiency in maintaining speed and efficiency in demanding, high-stress environments and in extreme climates, such as summer desert conditions.
- Travel is irregular and up to 50% domestically and internationally
- This position requires flexible work hours including evenings and weekends
What You Will Do:
- Capture test events using high‑speed and standard‑speed video and still photography
- Collaborate with IP Teams to design and implement imaging solutions based on testing requirements
- Set up, configure, operate, and monitor imaging equipment and associated systems
- Collect, verify, and archive imaging data with high attention to detail
- Troubleshoot, adjust, and maintain imaging equipment to resolve technical issues
- Support test engineers and internal customers with imaging expertise throughout the test lifecycle
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and five (5) years of relevant experience OR in absence of a degree, nine (9) years of relevant experience is required
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in video production
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience working in an engineering lab and/or performing field testing
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Bachelor of Science in electronics technology, digital media, photography, mechanical technology, or a related field
- Experience with high‑speed imaging systems (e.g., Photron, Phantom)
- Knowledge of lighting techniques for test environments
- Familiarity with environmental or mechanical testing processes
- Experience with video editing or image analysis software
- Strong troubleshooting skills and experience diagnosing technical equipment issues
- Strong attention to detail and ability to verify data accuracy
- Team player who can work well with others under stressful and highly dynamic situations while maintaining flexibility to changing conditions
- Current DoD SECRET or TS/SSBI clearance

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
