The Senior Manager, Human Resources – South East Asia (6 months’ contract, maternity cover) supports the SEA HR Operations function in ensuring that the operations and administration of the company’s HR programs within the assigned regions/clusters are aligned with the company’s overall HR priorities and policies.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important, and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

Operational HR Support 

  • Key point of support for drafting of GM/HMs employment agreement and other employment letters. 

  • Support the annual compensation review cycle in partnership with specialist internal functions, including reviewing all property merit increment and bonus submissions during the compensation cycle before submitting for approval.

  • Oversee the monthly reporting cycle.

  • Coordinate regional submissions relating to Great Place to Work ™. 

  • Manage regional communications for the Hilton Global Team Member Survey (GTMS).

  • Be a relationship manager to Team Members; share information effectively and appropriately, influence positively and motivate others, as well as build trust and promote effective teamwork.

  • Escalate non-routine or complicated queries and requests from team members to the Senior Director, HR – SEA for advice.

  • Provide new hire orientation for new HRD/HRM Team Members.

  • Work with Senior Manager, C&B – APAC and Senior Director, HR – SEA closely on drafting of CTC (benefits and compensation package) for GM/HM hires and other C&B related matters. 

  • Work with the Expat Mobility Team in ensuring the new GM/HMs, 4D/HODs, and local HODs on international benefits are enrolled accordingly, and to provide transfer information in transfer cases.

  • Work with Expat Mobility Team in ensuring leaving GM/HMs, 4D/HODs, local HODs, on international benefits are terminated accordingly and provide relevant support/advice on next steps.

  • Assist all new/transfer GM/HMs with relocation support and advice. 

Hotel Openings

  • In partnership with regional directors, initiate recruitment activity for key roles for new opening hotels.

  • Monitor achievement against recruitment timelines.

  • Manage initial taskforce arrangements to provide short-term coverage for critical positions in new opening hotels.

  • Coordinate reporting on openings activities and escalate any detected risks or issues.

HRIS and Compliance

  • Track, collate, review, and submit monthly regional corporate reports (dashboard, APAC HR Tracker, payroll synopsis) promptly.

  • Ensure HR procedures are adhered to.

  • Provide advice and guidance on regional or leadership benefits for Team Members. 

  • Be a resource/expert on employment legislation and keep abreast of the latest changes to keep company policies aligned.

WHY YOU’LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of HR experience, preferably within a regional or multi-location role. 

  • Well-versed in employment laws.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely express ideas both verbally and in writing.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to effectively address any issue in collaboration with others as appropriate; the ability to proactively identify and prevent potential problems.

  • Ability to multitask, work effectively with minimal supervision, manage priorities and tasks needed for timely completion, and the flexibility to handle projects assigned immediately. To also exhibit initiative when appropriate to move projects forward.

  • Ethical conduct and integrity in the performance of all job functions and work effectively with all levels of management.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent projects, including appropriate prioritization of responsibilities/deadlines.

  • Ability to coordinate projects and work effectively among multiple parties, including providing direction for both internal teams and external partners, departments, and vendors/agencies.
