This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Design Systems Engineer based in the United States.

This role sits at the intersection of design, engineering, and systems thinking, focused on building the foundational layer that powers consistent, accessible, and scalable user experiences. You will define and evolve a modern design system that bridges design-to-code workflows and accelerates product development across teams. The work spans reusable UI components, design tokens, interaction patterns, and the underlying architecture that enables product teams to ship faster with higher quality.
You will collaborate closely with designers, engineers, and product leaders to translate real product needs into scalable system solutions.
A key part of the role involves shaping AI-assisted design workflows and integrating emerging tooling to improve design-to-code efficiency.
You will also influence how design systems are adopted, governed, and extended across multiple teams.
This is a highly impactful role for a builder who wants ownership over both craft and platform evolution in a fast-moving product environment.

      • Strong technical fluency in APIs, automation workflows, and system integration.
      • Experience contributing to production code and working closely with engineers in implementation-heavy environments.
      • Deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG AA) and UI quality across interaction states and patterns.
      • Experience experimenting with AI-assisted design and development tools (e.g., LLM-based workflows, design-to-code automation).
      • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to drive alignment across design and engineering teams.
      • Portfolio demonstrating shipped systems work, component libraries, and measurable product impact.
