Accountabilities:

In this role, you will provide technical leadership across engineering teams by defining architecture, improving development practices, and solving complex technical challenges that require broad organizational impact. You will operate across the stack while helping teams build scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.

    • Define and drive cross-team technical strategy by identifying architectural gaps, proposing solutions, and leading complex initiatives from discovery through delivery.
    • Build foundations, shared patterns, and platform capabilities that enable engineering teams to operate effectively and scale efficiently.
    • Take ownership of highly ambiguous technical challenges by bringing structure, clarity, and actionable solutions to undefined problems.
    • Guide architectural decisions across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and platform systems while balancing long-term scalability with immediate business needs.
    • Establish and improve engineering standards, including AI-assisted development practices, code review approaches, technical decision-making frameworks, and build-versus-buy evaluations.
    • Mentor and elevate engineers through technical guidance, thoughtful reviews, documentation, RFCs, and collaborative problem-solving.
    • Partner with product and engineering leadership to influence technical roadmaps, identify opportunities, and surface risks early.
    • Contribute hands-on technical expertise across modern full-stack systems, including application development, distributed services, infrastructure, and security.
    • Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a highly experienced software engineer with a history of technical leadership across teams and systems. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, making strategic decisions, and influencing engineering practices through both technical expertise and collaboration.

      • 12+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated technical ownership beyond individual projects.
      • Proven ability to define architecture and technical direction at an organization, platform, or multi-team level.
      • Strong full-stack engineering experience with the ability to navigate frontend architecture, backend services, and infrastructure trade-offs.
      • Deep understanding of distributed systems, API design, data modeling, cloud-native architectures, and scalable software development.
      • Experience working in environments requiring strong technical judgment, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration.
      • Active and advanced use of AI coding tools, with a thoughtful perspective on how AI can improve engineering workflows and decision-making.
      • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to write technical proposals, explain complex concepts, and align diverse stakeholders.
      • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments by creating clarity, prioritizing opportunities, and driving execution.
      • Experience with technologies such as React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines is highly valuable.
      • Familiarity with authentication and identity systems such as OIDC, SAML, OAuth, JWT, and federated identity solutions is a plus.
      • Experience in mission-critical, regulated, high-compliance, or enterprise environments is preferred.
      • Benefits:

        • Competitive compensation range:
          • Senior Software Engineer: $180,000 – $200,000 USD.
          • Staff Software Engineer: $205,000 – $230,000 USD.
          • Equity opportunities.
          • Fully remote work environment with flexible working hours.
          • Unlimited paid time off.
          • Comprehensive health coverage, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
          • 401(k) retirement plan.
          • Paid parental leave offering 8 weeks at 100% pay regardless of location.
          • Annual company retreats and opportunities for team connection.
          • $1,000 annual home office budget to support a productive remote workspace.
          • Opportunity to work on impactful technology challenges alongside a highly skilled engineering team.
