Accountabilities:

    The VP Engineering will own the technology strategy and execution roadmap, driving modernization efforts while ensuring the platform remains secure, scalable, and aligned with business objectives. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can balance architecture decisions, product delivery, team development, and executive communication.

    • Define and execute a multi-year technology modernization strategy aligned with product, clinical, and business goals.
    • Partner with executive leadership and stakeholders to guide architecture decisions, technology investments, and AI adoption strategies.
    • Lead the evolution of legacy systems into modern, scalable services using current development practices and cloud technologies.
    • Modernize front-end experiences by introducing accessible, user-friendly interfaces and improving overall product usability.
    • Oversee the transition toward more scalable architectures, including service decomposition and multi-tenant capabilities.
    • Drive security and compliance initiatives, including HIPAA requirements, security best practices, and SOC 2 Type II readiness.
    • Build and deliver AI-powered product capabilities by integrating advanced models and vendor solutions into clinical workflows.
    • Promote AI-assisted engineering practices while ensuring privacy, reliability, and responsible technology adoption.
    • Establish strong engineering standards, processes, and development practices to improve delivery speed and quality.
    • Mentor existing engineers, build a high-performing technology team, and define future hiring needs.
    • Represent technology strategy with customers, partners, auditors, and executive stakeholders.
    • Remain actively involved in development activities while transitioning toward broader leadership responsibilities as the organization grows.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is a technically strong engineering leader with experience modernizing complex software platforms, leading teams, and delivering impactful products in regulated environments.

      • 8+ years of software engineering experience with at least 4+ years leading engineering teams at a senior manager, director, or equivalent level.
      • Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft .NET ecosystem and the ability to contribute technically in the short term.
      • Experience modernizing legacy platforms, managing technical debt, and delivering transformation roadmaps without disrupting business operations.
      • Proficiency with modern front-end technologies such as React, Vue, or Angular, with a strong focus on user experience.
      • Experience designing and scaling software solutions in healthcare IT, digital health, EHR/EMR, or other regulated environments.
      • Knowledge of HIPAA-compliant systems, security practices, and privacy-focused technology development.
      • Experience delivering applied AI capabilities, including LLM integrations, AI-powered workflows, or intelligent product features.
      • Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud environments, DevOps practices, and scalable engineering processes.
      • Player-coach leadership style with the ability to balance hands-on development and team leadership.
      • Strong business acumen, including experience managing budgets, defining metrics, and communicating technical decisions to executives.
      • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
      • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with significant ownership and autonomy.
      • Preferred qualifications include:

        • Experience with pediatric therapy platforms, healthcare workflows, revenue-cycle systems, or clinical software.
        • Background leading complete re-platforming or large-scale modernization initiatives.
        • Experience with Azure, cloud architecture, or infrastructure strategy.
        • Experience owning security audits, SOC 2 initiatives, or compliance programs.
        • Previous experience scaling technology teams in a growth-stage or private-equity-backed environment.
        • Benefits:
