Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Patient Access Supervisor, you will lead the daily operations of the Registration department, actively monitoring, coordinating, and evaluating all staff activities to guarantee the best and quickest service for our patients.Daily, you will provide clear direction and coordinate efforts for prior authorization and scheduling processes for both staff and patients. You will be responsible for the daily administration of tasks, delivering exceptional customer service, and achieving high patient satisfaction.Success in this role requires a dedication to operational excellence, fostering a patient-centric environment, and ensuring efficient, high-quality patient access services.
- Responsible for supervising, guiding and motivating the registration and scheduling department.
- Analyzes and displays data in meaningful formats; develops and communicates policies/procedures and other business documentation; conducts special studies and prepares management reports, including KPI as they relate to the division.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, revenue integrity and other departments on issues relating to patient registration, insurance verification and patient flow.
- Identifies process improvements and assists leadership with procedural changes as needed.
- Provides timely performance feedback and coaching, performance reviews, and discipline in accordance with policy.
- Uses reports and dashboards to monitor daily productivity of the department and individuals.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two (2) years experience working in a hospital patient registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, or revenue-cycle related role in a healthcare setting
- Data entry, medical terminology, Visio, Microsoft applications or Google Workspace; including spreadsheets
- Must have excellent communication skills including phone etiquette
- Must be able to utilize independent decision-making and work independently
- Must be able to delegate and follow-up with assigned duties, work under stressful situations and show initiative
