THE ROLE
We are seeking a strategic, data-driven leader to own Thrive Market's member acquisition strategy and accelerate our next stage of growth. This role is responsible for maximizing acquisition performance, identifying new growth opportunities, and leading high-impact marketing initiatives that drive sustainable membership growth. The Sr. Director, Member Growth will translate complex data into clear decisions, align cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver measurable business results.
This role requires exceptional analytical rigor, deep performance marketing expertise, and a relentless focus on experimentation and optimization. The successful candidate is both a strategist and an operator who thrives on solving complex growth challenges, develops high-performing teams, and is motivated by building programs that create lasting business impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and drive channel-specific member acquisition strategy that ladders up to our overall growth goals.
- Own channel performance alongside your team and be accountable for traffic quality, reviewing daily, weekly, and monthly results against forecasted targets.
- Lead daily, weekly, and monthly reporting plus ad hoc analysis to identify short- and long-term optimizations, support forecasting, refine media mix strategy, and deepen measurement by channel.
- Stay in persistent pursuit of new acquisition opportunities while cultivating and growing existing partner relationships for ongoing scale.
- Build and execute an ongoing testing roadmap spanning creative, messaging, audience, targeting, and landing-page experiments, to continuously improve channel performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including Analytics and Tech, to build growth solutions that improve channel performance and campaign management efficiency.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Creative, UX, and Product to share best practices, test results, and channel performance, ensuring cross-functional alignment.
- Manage third-party ad platform vendors to secure first-class support and position Thrive Market to take advantage of new betas and platform changes.
- Coach, develop, and grow a small team, modeling the curiosity and analytical rigor that defines our Acquisition function.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of user acquisition marketing experience, specifically in acquisition and/or performance marketing, including team leadership.
- Hands-on experience with digital marketing platforms such as Google Ads and/or Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and YouTube Ads.
- Strong command of e-commerce marketing, including measurement, platforms, and channel best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, optimize, and scale multi-million-dollar performance marketing budgets.
- Highly analytical; comfortable with large data sets, optimizing for KPIs, and turning analysis into action.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- A proven track record of solving problems through technology.
- Experience managing third-party providers and vendor relationships.
- Experience managing, coaching, and developing a team.
- Experience in subscription and/or e-commerce businesses.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

- This position requires traveling to our HQ office in Los Angeles, California, twice a year for all-company summits; once in the summer and once in the winter.
