In this role, you’ll manage and administer the backbone of our technological infrastructure. You'll be the architect of the system, shaping the base definition, structure, and documentation to ensure the long-term success of our business operations.
What you will do
Maintain and Protect:
•Optimize systems: Your expertise will be crucial in configuring, installing and maintaining database management systems, ensuring that our systems are always running at peak performance.
•Set security protocols: You'll be responsible for managing user access and implementing policies and procedures to protect our valuable data from unauthorized access and external threats.
Strategize to Scale:
•Plan ahead: You will conduct capacity planning and growth projections based on usage, ensuring that our system is always scalable to meet our business needs.
•Make progress: You'll be a strategic partner, working closely with various teams to coordinate systematic database project plans that align with our organizational goals.
•Generate ideas: You'll have the opportunity to propose and implement enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system, enabling us to deliver world-class services to our customers.
Recover and Resolve:
•Be ready to recover: Develop strong backup and recovery plans to ensure that our system is always protected in the event of a failure.
•Support solutions: Use your technical acumen to support end users and application developers in solving complex problems related to our database systems.
Who You Are
As an OpenShift Platform Administrator at Kyndryl, you will be responsible for the administration, operation, support, and optimization of Red Hat OpenShift platforms across on‑premise and cloud environments. Your role will ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of containerized platforms that support business‑critical applications.
You will collaborate closely with DevOps, SRE, and development teams to deploy, operate, and troubleshoot containerized workloads, leveraging automation, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps practices. This position plays a key role in maintaining reliable service delivery and driving continuous improvement across enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, operate, and optimize Red Hat OpenShift clusters in on‑premise and cloud environments
- Manage Kubernetes resources (pods, namespaces, services, ingress, and containerized workloads)
- Deploy and support applications using CI/CD pipelines, automation, and GitOps practices
- Perform cluster lifecycle management: installation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and maintenance
- Ensure platform security, availability, and compliance (RBAC, certificates, secrets, networking)
- Monitor, log, and troubleshoot environments, supporting incident resolution under SLAs
- Collaborate with DevOps and SRE teams to improve platform reliability, scalability, and efficiency
- Integrate OpenShift with infrastructure components (VMware, storage, networking, load balancers)
- Develop and maintain automation and scripting for operational improvements
- Maintain documentation and support operational best practices and continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
- 4–5+ years of experience in OpenShift and/or Kubernetes-based environments
- Hands-on experience with Red Hat OpenShift (on‑premise and cloud)
- Strong knowledge of Kubernetes administration and container lifecycle management
- Experience supporting containerized applications and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of cluster installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching
- Experience with monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and incident management
- Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Ansible, YAML, GitOps practices)
- Knowledge of security practices (RBAC, certificates, secrets, networking)
- Intermediate English proficiency for documentation and global collaboration
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Certification: Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration (EX280)
- Experience integrating OpenShift with VMware, storage, and network infrastructure
- Experience in enterprise or regulated environments
- Familiarity with DevOps, SRE practices, and IT service management (ITIL)
- Experience working with large-scale production environments
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work in collaborative environments
