About this opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced actuary to join its growing Bermuda operations as Director of Actuarial & Enterprise Risk. Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, this role will play a key role in supporting actuarial analysis, capital management, regulatory reporting, enterprise risk management, and strategic business initiatives across the organization.

Working closely with the Chief Risk Officer and key business stakeholders, the successful candidate will provide actuarial expertise to support business growth, capital efficiency, sound risk management practices, and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform actuarial analysis relating to capital management, solvency, financial projections, stress testing, and risk assessment activities
  • Support the preparation, review, and enhancement of regulatory filings and solvency submissions required by Bermuda, Cayman, and other regulatory authorities
  • Participate in enterprise risk management activities, including risk identification, risk assessment, stress testing, scenario analysis, and risk appetite monitoring
  • Collaborate with actuarial, finance, investment, underwriting, compliance, and risk teams on cross-functional initiatives
  • Support relationships with regulators, external advisors, auditors, and other stakeholders as required
  • Prepare written reports, presentations, and Board materials communicating technical actuarial findings to non-technical audiences

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline
  • Fellowship designation from a recognized actuarial body (FIA, FSA, FCAS, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 8–10 years of actuarial experience within the insurance, reinsurance, consulting, or financial services sectors
  • Strong understanding of actuarial valuation, pricing, capital management, solvency assessment, and financial modelling
  • Experience supporting regulatory reporting, capital frameworks, stress testing, or enterprise risk management activities
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reports and presentations for senior stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts clearly and effectively to diverse audiences
