Accountabilities:
- Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
- Prepare profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and depreciation schedules for business clients.
- Prepare income tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships, and superannuation funds.
- Review client accounting records in platforms such as MYOB, QuickBooks, and Xero to produce accurate management reports.
- Provide support on taxation matters including Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT), Capital Gains Tax (CGT), income tax, and GST.
- Understand and calculate Division 7A loan requirements, including loan calculations and minimum repayments.
- Perform company searches and prepare dividend resolutions using relevant tools.
- Support compliance activities for complex property development clients.
- Apply knowledge of property development accounting, including land subdivisions and GST margin scheme requirements.
- Manage multiple client engagements while maintaining accuracy, quality, and deadlines.
- Review financial information and ensure compliance with applicable accounting and taxation requirements.
- 5+ years of experience in tax compliance accounting within an Australian accounting firm.
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements.
- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns for various entity types.
- Experience managing multiple clients and competing deadlines.
- Knowledge of property development accounting, including land subdivisions and GST margin scheme applications.
- Strong ability to interpret legislation, regulations, and technical accounting requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently while maintaining high-quality standards.
