Business Communications Senior Advisor - Executive Leadership Engagement & Communications
Location: Preferred locations are Bloomfield, CT or St. Louis, MO. Candidates in either location should be comfortable building relationships across a geographically dispersed organization and supporting leadership engagement activities that may require travel.
Position Summary
The Senior Advisor, Enterprise Leadership Team Communications & Engagement is responsible for designing and executing strategic employee engagement initiatives that strengthen connections between the Enterprise Leadership Team (ELT) and employees across the enterprise. This role serves as the lead architect and project manager for ELT site visits to employee offices in the U.S. and globally.
Working in close partnership with Communications, Chiefs of Staff, Human Resources, market leaders, and ELT members, this individual develops end-to-end engagement strategies, creates compelling leadership messaging, and ensures flawless execution of events and communications that drive meaningful dialogue between leaders and employees throughout the year.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Leadership Team Engagement Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for ELT engagement with employees across markets and business units.
- Design communication and engagement approaches that strengthen leadership visibility, accessibility, and connection with employees.
- Identify opportunities to enhance leadership team effectiveness, cohesion, and overall team health through thoughtfully designed site visit experiences.
- Partner with HR and Communications leaders to ensure engagement initiatives align with organizational priorities, culture, and business objectives.
ELT Site Visit Planning & Execution
- Own the planning, coordination, logistics, and execution of ELT site visits and employee engagement events.
- Lead cross-functional planning efforts with executive administrators, Chiefs of Staff, Communications partners, HR, and local market stakeholders.
- Develop event agendas and engagement frameworks that maximize meaningful interaction between leaders and employees.
- Manage end-to-end event operations, including timelines, invitations, materials, executive briefings, stakeholder coordination, and post-event follow-up.
Communications & Messaging
- Develop strategic communication plans that support ELT site visits.
- Create messaging, key talking points, speeches, scripts, FAQs, and briefing materials for ELT to use at site visits.
- Translate enterprise priorities and corporate messaging into relevant, engaging communications for employees.
- Ensure consistency and alignment of messages across leadership communications and engagement channels.
Ideal candidates will offer
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Business, or a related field.
- 10+ years in Communications, preferably in a large matrixed organization.
- Significant experience in employee engagement, communications, project management and operations.
- Demonstrated experience supporting senior executives (C-suite level) and developing communications for leadership audiences.
- Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs and events with multiple stakeholders.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level messaging and presentation development.
- Strong strategic thinking, project management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, influence stakeholders, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work from a Cigna Group office at least 3 days a week, as directed by the business.
If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 113,600 - 189,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.
This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
