Euromonitor International is currently hiring a Consultant for Ingredients to join its Bangalore office full-time. The Consultant will lead or support bespoke research through unique autonomy in project design and client management. S/he will also work closely with our in-house Industry experts to bring our best in client service and industry knowledge, and will play a key role in partnering with the Catalyst team in Bangalore as well as consulting teams in Chicago
The primary function of the Consultant role is to successfully execute the strategic objectives of custom research projects for our clients, while also setting best practices for delivery and driving the commercialisation of Euromonitor's Ingredients consulting capability.
Euromonitor works with leading industry players across different verticals and provides a diverse set of custom research solutions. The individual must be a self-starting, critical thinker with a structured yet creative approach to problem solving and an eye for detail. The successful candidate must be willing and able to take full personal responsibility for delivering projects to high standards and client satisfaction.
In addition, this role will support the growth of Euromonitor’s Ingredients consulting capability, working closely with Client Business Development teams and delivery teams to translate ingredient intelligence into commercially relevant consulting engagements for clients. The Principal Consultant will also collaborate closely with the Catalyst team in Bangalore and consulting teams in Chicago to ensure consistency of delivery standards and share best practices across offices.
What you’ll be doing:
- Lead projects end to end, develop briefs, and establish supporting materials and templates for use across the team.
- Drive and deliver insights to solve client problems using effective tools, frameworks and analytical approaches.
- Conduct and oversee quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Manage consultants and analysts, including communication, scheduling, and quality oversight.
- Ensure quality control of all materials and data analysis across the ingredients consulting portfolio.
- Liaise with regional colleagues — particularly the Catalyst team in Bangalore and teams in Chicago — to align on delivery goals, timelines and best practices.
- Conduct and guide primary interviews and industry consultations with trade associations and companies.
- Perform and supervise secondary research using in-house and external resources.
- Utilise mixed methods to answer client questions and establish replicable approaches for the team.
- Communicate with clients from project start to completion, acting as a senior point of contact.
- Develop professional documents for C-suite audiences.
- Present findings confidently to clients and build lasting relationships
Project Execution:
- Delivering timely, thorough analysis that meets client objectives.
- Setting best practices for project planning, including development of briefs, templates, and other supporting materials necessary for meeting all project objectives, to be adopted across the Bangalore Catalyst and consulting teams globally.
- Planning of project resources, timelines and frameworks including development of briefs, templates, and other supporting materials necessary for meeting all project objectives.
- The day-to-day management of any analysts or other providers including communication, establishing schedules, and administering final payments.
- Rigorous quantitative and qualitative analysis to address our clients’ business questions and deliver value-added reports and analysis.
- Quality control of all generated materials via querying, validation and final interpretation of data and analysis to fully meet client objectives.
- Serving as an escalation point for complex delivery or methodological challenges, ensuring consistent quality standards across concurrent projects
Team and Development:
The Principal Consultant will focus on self-development and sharing knowledge, contributing significantly to the development of the skillset of team members and ingredient specialisation, external contractors, and the broader consulting community across offices.
- Mentoring associate consultants via day-to-day knowledge transfers, offering immediate feedback and applied training activities when necessary, e.g., explaining Excel or PPT functionality.
- Leading team and ICA training sessions on key areas for improvement or areas of expertise, including sessions shared with the Chicago team
- Assisting and occasionally running team and ICA training sessions on key areas for improvement or areas of expertise.
- Participate in certain portions of new hiring when deemed necessary by Consulting Manager.
- Liaise with colleagues within and across offices to organize, create, capture and distribute best practices into appropriate tracking tools and promote organizational innovation.
- Establish and maintain a playbook of delivery standards and methodologies for ingredient consulting engagements that can be adopted consistently across geographies.
Commercial Activities:
As the Principal Consultant , driving commercialisation of the Ingredients consulting capability is a core part of the role. The following activities are central to this position:
- Execute on large, global, repeat jobs and repeat client business.
- Lead and drive the commercialisation of Euromonitor's ingredient intelligence, identifying and shaping consulting opportunities that translate data assets into client-facing engagements.
- Review and lead repeat or extension proposals for CGBD regarding clients with whom you have previously worked.
- Work closely with Client Business Development teams to identify consulting opportunities where ingredient intelligence and related datasets can support client strategy.
- Support the development of consulting proposals and project approaches for ingredient-related engagements.
- Visit prospective clients in order to help explain our methodology and close new business for our department.
- Participate in and run training for other departments regarding Consulting capabilities and recent project successes.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Ingredients consulting practice, identifying new propositions, sectors or geographies where the capability can grow.
Client Communication:
- Senior client communication from project inception through completion, ensuring that all core research objectives are met.
- Using effective storytelling to develop clear, persuasive and professional reports and presentations for C-suite audiences which address the client's questions in detail.
- Confidently present findings remotely or in-person.
- Act as a senior resource and relationship owner for clients throughout project engagements, building productive and lasting relationships at all levels and deepening the relationship between Euromonitor and custom research clients.
Research management within projects:
- Effectively answer key client questions by combining qualitative and quantitative information from diverse sources, including desk research, interviews, survey data, store checks, and analytical tools.
- Conduct primary research / industry consultations by managing and conducting interviews with trade associations, leading companies and internal Euromonitor experts to gain insights into specific custom research questions.
- Conduct and oversee secondary research collating in-house resources and external published information to clearly understand the market / companies under review and gather all necessary inputs.
Responsibilities – Ingredients Consulting
The Consultant will play a key role in supporting the development and growth of Euromonitor’s ingredient-focused consulting capability across FMCG industries.
- Lead and work closely with Client Business Development teams (CGBDs) to identify, shape and win ingredient-related consulting opportunities, helping translate client challenges into consulting projects that leverage Euromonitor's ingredient intelligence and data assets.
- Act as project lead, senior advisor and subject matter expert across ingredient consulting engagements, ensuring projects incorporate appropriate technical understanding, market context and industry relevance.
- Set and ensure that consulting methodologies are applied consistently and correctly across ingredient projects, supporting delivery teams in translating client questions into robust and scalable research approaches.
- Work closely with the Project Delivery and Data Specialist teams to understand how ingredient datasets are structured within Euromonitor systems and how these datasets can be effectively leveraged within consulting engagements.
- Identify and lead the development of consumer goods consulting propositions that can be delivered using Euromonitor's ingredient intelligence, expanding the range of consulting solutions available to clients.
- Provide technical and market guidance to consulting teams on ingredient markets, innovation dynamics and supply chain considerations to strengthen the analytical depth and commercial relevance of consulting outputs.
- Lead consulting teams in integrating ingredient insights into broader FMCG industry analysis, including food, beverage, health and beauty sectors.
- Own the development of best practices, methodologies and frameworks for ingredient-related consulting projects, driving the long-term development of this capability within Euromonitor and ensuring consistent adoption across offices.
Ingredients Expertise
For this role, an understanding of ingredient ecosystems and innovation dynamics across FMCG industries is highly valuable.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate familiarity with:
• Ingredient innovation and functionality across food, beverage, health and beauty industries
• Ingredient supply chains and sourcing dynamics
• Product formulation considerations and ingredient functionality
• Emerging ingredient trends such as health-driven ingredients, natural positioning and functional benefits
• How ingredients influence product differentiation, claims and competitive positioning
This knowledge will enable the Principal Consultant to provide credible technical and commercial leadership across ingredient engagements, and to help shape the direction of the practice
Requirements
• At minimum, a post graduate degree in business, economics, finance, or similar with at least 8 years of work experience in a market research agency or client-facing environment/role; proven research, consulting and/or analytics expertise.
• Industry experience in consumer or trade sectors, with an ability to build market sizing models (top down / bottom up), strategic analysis, presentations and report writing.
• Experience evaluating, manipulating, analysing, and triangulating data sets from different sources to arrive at the most logical and accurate estimates.
• A curious and commercial mindset – keen to learn and understand things from a client’s point of view.
• Ability to work in a high-paced challenging environment to manage multiple projects and to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Advanced MS Office computer skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel skills, with PowerBI desirable.
• Knowledge of other research methodologies, AI tools, or data analytics is a PLUS.
