Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman’ Space Systems is seeking a Principal/Manufacturing Engineer - Level 2 or Level 3 to join our Launch Systems Manufacturing Integration Team in Chandler, AZ.This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. Relocation assistance is not available.Your Role and Impact:o Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling.o Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.o Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.o Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.o May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plans.o Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, investigate and initiate corrective actions for problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.o Develop manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques.o Provide guidance to engineering regarding Design For Manufacturing (DFM) concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. o Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with regulations.This can be filled as either a Level 2 or Level 3.Required Qualifications for Level 2: Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of related experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of related experienceMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearanceExperienced in creating, supporting & sustaining the use of Manufacturing Engineering System (MES) work instructionsProficient in DFMExperience with manufacturing processes, procedures work cell layout, production build sequence, tooling design, troubleshooting/corrective action, and quality assurance.Experience adapting machine or equipment design to factory and production conditionsFamiliarity working with CAD, NX, Costpoint and TeamcenterRequired Qualifications for Level 3: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of related experienceMust have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret clearanceExperienced in creating, supporting & sustaining the use of Manufacturing Engineering System (MES) work instructionsProficient in DFMExperience with manufacturing processes, procedures work cell layout, production build sequence, tooling design, troubleshooting/corrective action, and quality assurance.Experience adapting machine or equipment design to factory and production...
