Position Summary

This position is responsible for both designing and developing manufacturing systems and equipment and assessing existing systems to identify weaknesses and strengths, conducting research and analyses, developing prototypes, setting and implementing test systems and troubleshooting issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete all areas outlined for this position in a satisfactory manner. 

  • Own the full lifecycle of manufacturing equipment by designing, developing, commissioning, maintaining, and continuously improving semi- and fully-automated manufacturing equipment to support safe, reliable, and efficient production.
  • Provide hands-on manufacturing floor support by spending the majority of the workday installing, troubleshooting, repairing, optimizing, and commissioning custom production equipment while partnering closely with Operators, Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Automation Controls Engineering to maximize equipment performance.
  • Design and implement innovative manufacturing solutions including production equipment, fixtures, jigs, tooling, and support hardware with a focus on safety, ergonomics, reliability, maintainability, manufacturability, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive continuous improvement and equipment reliability by leading root cause investigations, implementing permanent corrective actions, analyzing manufacturing data, and improving equipment uptime, throughput, yield, and overall equipment effectiveness.
  • Collaborate across cross-functional teams to bridge product engineering and manufacturing, support new product introductions, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure successful equipment integration into production.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety, quality, environmental, and housekeeping standards while demonstrating CelLink's culture of integrity, teamwork, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement; perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience/Education 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as an Equipment Engineer, Mechanical/Electrical Engineer or similar experience 
  • Experience with design, assembly and/or maintenance of automated manufacturing equipment required

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Experience with assembly and/or maintenance of roll-to-roll manufacturing equipment preferred
  • Solid background in using 3D computer aided design software
  • Experience using PLC, and device configuration software
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles preferred
  • Ability to use hand and machine tools safely
  • Experience developing discrete simulation models
  • Experience with extracting and analyzing manufacturing data
  • Independent problem solver with a desire to learn new skills and develop new technology
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented mind set
  • Able to adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced start-up setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
