The Position

Purpose, Objectives and Scope of Position

The Country Analytics and Portfolio Optimization Lead (cAPO) will play a critical role in ensuring that operational analytics are effectively utilized and implemented to support business objectives and decision making.

Focus: Implement APO solutions, ensure data-driven decisions, and monitor portfolio performance for proactive mitigation. Incorporate local feedback into design and processes, and support country-level analytics.

Key Responsibilities

● Contribute as a member of the Country Leadership Team where applicable, sharing collective leadership with the Country Head, Clinical Operations Excellence Leader(s) (COE Leader), and other cTAL(s)

● Participate in the Country/Area APO Community of Practice to maintain analytics standards and share best practices. Collaborate with key stakeholders, including portfolio delivery teams, the Area Analyst, PDG Analytics & Portfolio Optimization team, and PDG Clinical Operations Excellence

● In PDG Hub countries, this responsibility will include close collaboration with the Country Head of the affiliated countries to support the applicable country strategy for each country within the hub

● Partner with Area Analysts and PDG Analytics & Optimization team to generate actionable insights and analyses to inform operational decisions

● Support country-level operational portfolio reviews and resourcing decisions.

● Serve as the primary contact for portfolio analytics questions

● Continuously monitor and optimize the performance and efficiency of portfolio delivery

● Integrate analytics capabilities into business processes, enabling teams to access and analyze data within their workflows

● Provide first-level support for self-service analytics products, including training, navigation, data search, retrieval, and interpretation

● Foster data literacy by helping teams understand and confidently use data, building a culture of trust through improved data transparency

● Enhance data quality by raising awareness of its impact on insights generation

● Anticipate emergent business challenges to unlock new opportunities for analytics

Additional responsibilities

● DRIVE PATIENT-CENTRICITY (MINDSETS, BEHAVIORS AND ACTIONS) THROUGHOUT CLINICAL OPERATIONS by always putting the needs of the patient and the investigator first. Cultivate meaningful peer-to-peer interactions to drive a deeper understanding of patient needs, and in doing so nurture a culture of curiosity to enable faster, simpler and more patient centric ways of operationalizing our studies

● DRIVE EVOLUTION OF GLOBAL CLINICAL OPERATIONS through the bold pursuit of the Pharma Vision. This will be achieved through in-service leadership, the embedding of radically simpler ways to do high impact work, strong collaboration and the successful delivery of portfolio and improvement projects

● INSPIRE AND EMPOWER TALENT by providing VACC leadership (visionary, architect, catalyst and coach) while ensuring accountability in delivery in our global matrixed environment ● PROACTIVE STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT AND ALIGNMENT by partnering with a broad set of senior stakeholders (Roche Pharma enterprise level), enhancing collaborations, fostering connections and removing roadblocks and obstacles, and as Roche works towards achieving The Pharma Vision

Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Life Sciences, Education, Business) is required

● 7+ years of work experience with Bachelors; 5+ years of work experience with Masters; 3+ years of work experience with PhD/JD, preferably within pharmaceutical or biotech industry (commercial or clinical) and/or management consulting

● Experience preferred in at least one of the following areas: Patient Insights, Investigator Insights, Forecasting, Competitive Intelligence, Data Analytics, Statistics, and/or

Resourcing

● Demonstrated experience translating data into insights and creating compelling narratives

● Portfolio management experience is highly desirable

● Expertise in standard analysis and presentation software (Google Workspace, Excel, PowerPoint)

● Ability to merge together data sets from disparate sources and report findings in a variety of formats and mediums

● Persuasive written and verbal communication skills, easily communicating complex ideas

● Strong attention to detail

● In-depth understanding of clinical operations and the drug development process, including knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

● Experience working across multiple cultures and countries with a strong appreciation for diversity and inclusion

● Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives that drive positive outcomes especially as it relates to Systems.

● Outstanding influencing and negotiation skills with proven ability to influence senior leaders in a complex global environment.

● Demonstrated ability to stay abreast of the latest trends and developments, with a future-forward mindset.
