About us
Complir is the AI platform for the product compliance lifecycle, built for retailers, brands, and manufacturers selling physical consumer products across multiple markets.
We believe getting a physical product to market shouldn't mean fighting spreadsheets, PDFs, and supplier emails just to prove it's safe and legal to sell. Product compliance should be continuous, automatic, and understandable, not a bottleneck that slows launches down. We're building the AI infrastructure that makes that possible.
We work with many of the world's largest retailers and brands across fashion, furniture, cosmetics, toys, electronics and many other product categories. We're backed by Y Combinator, and a roster of investors who see what we see: Product compliance is the next major infrastructure category, and we're leading it.
About the role
We're looking for a senior fullstack engineer who wants to build with LLMs for real: not a chatbot bolted onto a SaaS product, but AI doing the actual work at the core of the platform.
Product compliance is not a topic that makes people lean in at dinner parties. But every product you've ever bought, from a kid's toy dinosaur to your electric toothbrush, had to clear a wall of regulation before it reached you. Most companies manage that wall with spreadsheets, inbox archaeology, and very tired quality and compliance managers.
That wall happens to be a near-perfect problem for LLMs. Dense regulation, messy supplier documents, product data scattered across a dozen systems, and questions that need grounded, defensible answers: "Which regulations apply to this product? What's missing? Can I sell it?" We're building the system that answers those questions automatically, for our customers that ship thousands of new products a month. You'll be one of the people building it.
AI at the core, not on the side
Most "AI features" in B2B software are a text box that calls an API. Ours is the product: Pipelines that classify products against global regulatory frameworks, retrieval over customer documents, risk assessments running multiple AI pipelines in parallel, customs declarations drafted automatically, and a compliance assistant grounded in each customer's own product data.
You'll build across the full stack with modern, up-to-date systems and infrastructure (Next.js, TypeScript), and ship features that are deeply integrated with LLMs: retrieval, embeddings, multi-model orchestration. The interesting problems live in the seams: Making model output trustworthy enough that a compliance or quality manager stakes a product launch on it, making retrieval precise when the corpus is 100+ regulatory frameworks, and making all of it feel instant in the UI.
You'll do this sitting next to the founders, our AI engineers, and our in-house compliance expert at our Copenhagen HQ. No layers, no ticket queues. When a user hits a problem, the fix ships in hours, not sprints.
What you'll actually do
Build across the full stack using modern, up-to-date systems and infrastructure (Next.js, TypeScript)
Ship features that are deeply integrated with LLMs: retrieval, embeddings, multi-model orchestration
Own features end to end: from data model to prompt to pixel, from idea to production
Turn a compliance expert's judgment into systems: Encode how classification, risk, and requirements actually work into pipelines that scale
Work directly with customers and founders to decide what to build next, then build it
Shape the architecture, tooling, and engineering culture as the team grows
You will love this job, if you are:
A senior engineer with several years shipping production fullstack applications, fluent in TypeScript, at home in Next.js
Experienced with (or seriously hungry to go deep on) LLM-powered systems: RAG, embeddings, orchestrating multiple models in one workflow
Product-minded: You care what the user is trying to do, not just what the ticket says
Someone who treats model output as an engineering problem: Evals, grounding, and failure modes, not vibes
Comfortable with ambiguity and speed: Small team, fast decisions, no spec handed down from above
Excited to work on-site in Copenhagen with the whole team
A builder at heart
What you get
LLM engineering with actual stakes: Our system answers "can I legally sell this product?" for some of Europe's biggest retailers and brands
Real ownership of the code, the architecture, and a real say in what gets built
Zero layers: You sit next to the founders, the AI team, and the compliance experts whose knowledge you're turning into software
Ground floor of a category-defining company, backed by Y Combinator and investors betting on product compliance becoming the next big thing
Competitive salary and equity
An office where the pastries are mandatory
If you've read this far and thought "that's the AI job I've been looking for," we'd like to meet you.
