Accountabilities:
- Lead the development and optimization of robotics platform features, tools, APIs, and developer-facing capabilities with a strong focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Design and build reference applications, benchmarks, tutorials, and technical resources that demonstrate robotics platform capabilities in real-world scenarios.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to optimize platform performance and maximize hardware capabilities for sensor processing and Physical AI applications.
- Coordinate technical initiatives across hardware, simulation, AI framework, and developer-focused teams to align priorities and deliver cohesive platform experiences.
- Establish and promote engineering best practices, including code quality standards, testing methodologies, performance measurement, observability, and AI-assisted development approaches.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to engineers by setting direction, reviewing designs, and supporting team growth.
- Drive innovation across the robotics platform stack by identifying opportunities to improve developer workflows and system capabilities.
- Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience focused on systems software, robotics, developer platforms, or related technical domains.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and delivering robotic products or robotics-based solutions.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and influencing engineering direction.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as C, C++, Python, Rust, or similar, with the ability to work across application and platform software layers.
- Strong understanding of robotics concepts, including sensor pipelines, real-time processing, and robot application architectures.
- Experience working effectively in fast-paced, collaborative, multi-team engineering environments.
- Ability to leverage agentic AI tools and modern development approaches to accelerate software engineering productivity.
