Animal Lab Tech Lucien-Matteoni Lab Part time Limited Tenure

Prepares tissue, blood and other specimens for routine testing. Participates in maintenance and identification of animals to be used in experiments. Assists in surgical procedures on animals as needed. Records results, reports unusual outcomes. Collects/enters/reports data. Demonstrates lab techniques to designated lab personnel. Assists in maintenance of lab equipment and supplies.

Requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Additional relevant laboratory experience and familiarity with animal welfare practices preferred. Computer experience is helpful. Must have the ability to carry out basic routine techniques independently, and have a desire to work closely with lab animals. Must have above average manual dexterity, be able to endure exposures to heat, noise, dust, dander, animal bites, and chemicals.
