Accountabilities:

    As a Software/DevOps Engineer, you will support both software development and operational execution within a collaborative product environment. You will build and maintain backend services, improve deployment reliability, manage critical data operations, and contribute to secure, scalable technology solutions.

    • Design, develop, maintain, and enhance backend services and supporting applications.
    • Build and improve data ingestion components, including integrations, transformations, validation processes, and automation workflows.
    • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions to improve reliability.
    • Develop internal tools and automation that reduce operational complexity and improve engineering efficiency.
    • Own recurring product data ingestion cycles, monitor execution, manage retries, and resolve failures or partial data loads.
    • Validate data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness while coordinating with product, analytics, and support teams when issues arise.
    • Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines to support safe and reliable application deployments.
    • Coordinate releases, monitor application health, review logs and alerts, and respond to production incidents.
    • Manage environment configurations and secrets while following security best practices.
    • Improve operational capabilities through monitoring, alerting, retries, timeouts, and other reliability enhancements.
    • Collaborate with architecture, engineering, product, data, and support teams to improve platform resilience and technical processes.
    • Support secure handling of sensitive healthcare data and contribute to compliance efforts.
    • Identify opportunities for automation, process improvement, and better engineering practices.
    • Requirements:

      The ideal candidate is an experienced software and DevOps professional with strong expertise in cloud-based data systems, backend development, and operational reliability. You should be comfortable working independently, partnering with business teams, and applying technical expertise to solve complex challenges.

      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
      • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, DevOps, or a related technical role with demonstrated leadership experience.
      • Strong expertise building and administering AWS-native data systems, including Redshift, Aurora, RDS PostgreSQL, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, and MWAA-Airflow.
      • Advanced Python and SQL skills, including complex query design, database optimization, views, stored procedures, and triggers.
      • Proven experience working with AWS cloud environments over multiple years.
      • Experience with healthcare data, including medical claims, pharmacy claims, or similar sensitive datasets is required.
      • Strong understanding of software development practices, cloud operations, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and production support.
      • Ability to develop deep subject-matter expertise and collaborate effectively with business stakeholders.
      • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on reliability, automation, and continuous improvement.
      • Ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work while managing priorities in a collaborative environment.
      • Passion for using technology and data to create meaningful business and customer outcomes.
