Program Manager, WW AI Transformation & Governance, Supply Chain, Mexico
Mexico City, MexicoFull-timePosted Jul 15, 2026
Amazon's Worldwide Operations organization is executing an ambitious AI transformation spanning multiple global entities (NA, EU, ROW, GPO, GEMS, GM), with 1,100+ AI tools registered in our centralized governance platform. As this portfolio scales, the governance function needs a dedicated owner ensuring the underlying execution machinery, metrics, the tool registry, compliance tollgates, and financial validation reporting, runs reliably and consistently across every geography.
We are seeking a Program Manager to be the tactical execution arm behind the Governance pillar strategy. Working from the strategic direction set by the pillar sponsor, you will operationalize it on the ground: aligning and reporting governance metrics, keeping the AI tool registry healthy, integrating and monitoring compliance tollgates, aligning with Finance on metric reporting mechanisms, driving correct deployment of these mechanisms into remaining geographies, and running the cross-entity accountability program. You translate strategy into running mechanisms, clean data, and consistent execution across entities.
You will report directly to the Director leading WW AI Governance and be an integral part of a leadership team shaping how AI scales responsibly across Amazon's global operations. This gives you direct access to strategic context, VP-level decision-making, and the opportunity to influence how an enterprise-wide AI transformation is governed from the ground up.
AI will be your primary domain, but you do not need to arrive as an AI expert. You need to arrive as a governance, PMO, or compliance program management expert ready to apply your discipline to AI at scale. If you have built compliance frameworks, run portfolio reporting, or operationalized stage-gate processes, you already have the muscle this role demands. There will be a learning curve on AI-specific tools and lifecycle stages, and we will invest in it. What we offer in return is the opportunity to be at the center of AI transformation at one of the world's leading technology companies, helping define how AI governance operates globally across operations that serve hundreds of millions of customers. The AI context is learnable, the governance instinct is not.
You must understand how AI products move through the lifecycle (ideation → pilot → production) and how tool health and financial entitlement are measured and validated. You will ramp into this quickly, what matters most is your ability to operationalize complex frameworks, maintain data discipline, and hold cross-functional stakeholders accountable through mechanisms rather than hierarchy.
This is a role for someone who thrives on building mechanisms that make complex organizations move with discipline and speed. You will join a team that is defining how AI governance works at worldwide scale, and your fingerprints will be on the model that other organizations benchmark against.
Key job responsibilities
Cross-Entity Accountability Program (STL Program)
Stand up and run the Single-Threaded Leader Program, assigning a leadership-backed point of contact for data sanity within each entity. Drive the STL nomination cycle, run the operating rhythm (bi-weekly portfolio reviews, monthly cross-entity syncs, per-entity scorecards), instrument the STL scorecard, and operate the escalation ladder, resolving gaps influence-first and surfacing them with impact framing when needed
Metrics Alignment & Governance Reporting
Standardize governance metric definitions and calculation methods so numbers roll up cleanly across all entities. Report tool health (registration status, lifecycle stage, compliance-gate progress, at-risk tools) and finance tracking (self-reported savings, validated entitlement, validation coverage). Maintain the data-collection cadence, ensuring entities submit on time and reporting stays accurate and defensible.
Tool Registry Health & Platform Integration
Own the health of the AI tool registry: registration completeness, data quality, lifecycle accuracy, and duplication risk across 1,100+ tools. Drive integration of governance data (metrics, tollgate status, financial validation) into the platform so it serves as the single source of truth. Partner with the platform team on field mapping, intake, and data-sanity requirements.
Tollgate Integration & Monitoring
Integrate and monitor compliance tollgates (OpsTrust, Workplace Trust, Finance, Responsible AI) within the governance workflow, tracking each tool's progress through the gates. Identify bottlenecks and blocked tools early and flag them with the data needed to resolve them.
Finance Alignment & Reporting Mechanisms
Align with Finance on how governance metrics are reported, validated, and rolled up, operationalizing the mechanism that connects self-reported savings through regional verification to WW sign-off. Track validated entitlement and report validation coverage, closing gaps where entities currently lack finance validation.
Cross-Geography Deployment
Drive deployment of the governance model, metrics standards, tollgate monitoring, and registry mechanisms into remaining geographies (immediate focus on ROW and EU). Onboard regional teams, close data-completeness gaps, and monitor adoption of unified mechanisms.
A day in the life
The way I envision this new role: your morning starts with a scan of overnight updates from regional leads across multiple time zones. You pull new inputs into consolidated trackers, flag cross-workstream dependencies, and send async notes to confirm deliverables are on track for the next review cycle.
Throughout the day, you move between operational coordination and governance execution. You are in a working session with the Finance partner finalizing the validation architecture for this month's review, synthesizing their model inputs with compliance gate data to ensure the numbers tell a defensible story. You facilitate a cross-regional sync where teams are building toward a convergence decision, surfacing open questions, documenting the path forward, and confirming timelines.
You hold teams accountable when deliverables slip, drafting escalations with context and recovery plans. You monitor the tool registry for data quality gaps and follow up with entity STLs. You prepare governance reporting, ensuring metrics are current and the portfolio view is accurate. No two days are identical, but every day involves coordinating across regions and functions, maintaining data discipline, and ensuring governance mechanisms operate with consistency.
