As an Operations RMA Engineer II based in Nampa, ID, you will be a key member of the Operations team, responsible for advanced testing, verification, and refurbishment of customer-returned (RMA) units — delivering high-quality results in a timely manner. This full-time role also supports the Quality, Support, and R&D teams with troubleshooting and root cause analysis, and operates within an Americas scope.What you will do Evaluate, troubleshoot, and test customer-returned products down to board-level analysisRepair and refurbish products to production-level quality standardsDocument and communicate hardware quality issues to customers and suppliersCollaborate with Quality and Engineering to optimize production and RMA test processesIdentify recurring issues and share knowledge across teams to support defect preventionConduct and document failure analysis on router and modem devicesMaintain RMA metrics and acceptable inventory levelsContribute to process documentation and continuous improvement of the RMA departmentSupport other departments within Operations as neededThe skills you will bring BA/BS or equivalent experience in Network Administration, Network Engineering, IT Management, Systems Administration, or Electrical EngineeringSolid understanding of wireless technology concepts including routers, switches, and modemsFamiliarity with core networking concepts: LAN/WAN, VLAN, DHCP/DNS, and VPNProficiency with command-line troubleshooting tools (ping, ipconfig/ifconfig, traceroute), SSH/Telnet, and device log analysisAbility to communicate defect and root cause findings clearly to engineering and technical support teamsProficiency reading electrical schematics and using electronics test equipmentExperience with board-level debugging, basic electrical concepts, SMT/through-hole assembly, and soldering/reworkNice to have: Networking certifications, Lean process improvement experience, Python/REST API/JSON knowledge, or familiarity with cellular networking and cloud device managementWhy join Ericsson?At Ericsson, you´ll have an outstanding opportunity.
