VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU The Suicide Prevention Program Manager oversees suicide prevention activities for the Kansas City VAMC. Suicide Prevention Services include, but are not limited to: Veteran Crisis Line Calls referrals, REACH VET program, suicide prevention activities between KCVA and the regional Vet Center, Suicide Behavior and Overdose Reports, any requirements outlined in the Suicide Prevention Program Guide and additional directives, memos or policies, and various other committees and activities. The Program Manager facilitates access to care as a primary strategic priority and facilitates patient centered, recovery-focused care for this clinical population as well as supervises a number of multidisciplinary professional staff including Senior Social Workers, Social Workers, administrative support assistant, and master's level social work practicum students. Duties include but are not limited to: Program Coordination and Management Directs daily operations of the Suicide Prevention Program, including personnel, space, and equipment resource allocation. Reviews and enhances communication, workflow, and administrative systems for improved efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Ensures full compliance with VA and KCVA policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements applicable to suicide prevention services. Monitors medical center performance and outcomes related to populations served by Suicide Prevention. Supervision & Staff Leadership Supervises multidisciplinary staff, including senior social workers, social workers, administrative support staff, and graduate social work trainees. Provides guidance on safe working practices, occupational health, emergency preparedness, and fire protection standards. Community & Interagency Coordination Develops strong and effective partnerships with community agencies to ensure continuity of care and smooth transitions for Veterans. Represents KCVA and the Suicide Prevention Program in regional collaborations with the Vet Center and other stakeholders.
