IMS Database Administrator

**Introduction** As an Infrastructure Architect for the CIO Hybrid Cloud Z Platform & Strategy Team you will be responsible to support Middleware (CICS, IMS, DB2) in z/OS mainframe environment. The candidate must have experience with current versions of the product in the market an d understand the tools and applications for infrastructure support. In addition to daily steady state support, the professional should have focus in innovation, like automation of repetitive tasks. The work will be performed in the Agile model, in a cooperative environment, interfacing with global teams. You will maintain, support and help to enhance the multi-technology monitoring and automated remediation systems which support all IBM’s internal applications and systems. **Your role and responsibilities** You'll have the opportunity to identify points of improvement in technical processes and propose new ways to do it through automation, help our customer to resolve their pain points and, through co-creation, define solutions that allow improving the efficiency of their operations. Your primary responsibilities include: • Provide technical support using problem determination and problem source identification skills; • Utilize technical and negotiation skills in collaboration with other support operations/organizations to prioritize and diagnose problems to resolution; • Recommend and implement optimization and automation to existing technical support tools, procedures, and processes and implement new tools; • Provide training for and mentor others on the team **Required technical and professional expertise** • The professional should demonstrate deep knowledge of IMS DBA in z/OS mainframe environment, be able to solve complex problems, and have living experience in maintenance, configuration, high availability, root cause analysis, performance tuning, and security & compliance activities. • Good communication, teamwork, and interest in learning new technologies. • Experience in working with global teams, with people from several locations. • Autonomy to work without supervision, targeting to achieve agreed-upon goals and with an innovative mindset. • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Please send the resume in English. • Availability to 24x7 support, according to business needs. **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Strong IMS system support background on installing IMS product, apply ptf and performing version upgrade * Strong IMS DBA experience in running usual utilities like image copy, reorg, and recover * Be used to work on business as usual requests, incident and change management * Be used to run and resolve health check reports to maintain security integrity * Experience in another technology (DB2, IMS, WAS, or MQ) is a plus. * Python • Ansible for z/OS • DevOps • Machine Learning.
