We champion an inclusive culture and strive to attract and develop a talented workforce to create and deliver a wide range of content reflecting our world.Job DescriptionNBC News is seeking an Associate Producer to assist in all aspects of production of long form content.Responsibilities:Contribute to production of original content for air, including story developmentAid in extensive editorial researchConduct pre-interviews and on-camera interviewsParticipate in shooting, factchecking and editing, as directedProduce short web-extras, as needed, under the direction of the Senior ProducerCoordinate with technical, operations staff and external resourcesSignificant travel for booking, productions and to attend trialsQualificationsMust have a journalism background and at least 3 years’ editorial production experience for a network or cable operationMust be proficient in Outlook and iNewsBachelor's degree or equivalent years of experienceMust be willing to work in New YorkWillingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short noticeMust be able to provide a reel/portfolio of work examples -- if available, include a web address when you submit your resumeDesired Characteristics:Some shooting experienceAbility to shoot both breaking news and documentary style b-rollFamiliarity with video editingStrong journalistic writing skills, research skills and editorial judgmentDemonstrated strong knowledge and interest in news and current eventsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to multitask and effectively prioritize assignments in a dynamic environmentAdditional Requirements:Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office four days per week.
