If so, our Defense Systems wants you to join our Team as a SCA Aircraft Worker and support a maintenance program with Northrop Grumman in Lake Charles, LA.The Navy E-6 is an airborne command post and communications relay based on the Boeing 707 platform The aircraft are utilized primarily for long-range patrols along the entire U.S. border, and in source and transit zone countries. This platform, now modified to the E-6B standard, conveys instructions from the National Command Authority to fleet ballistic missile submarines, a mission known as TACAMO ("Take Charge And Move Out").**These positions are Service Contract Act positions.**This position will be hired for any shift.Your primary duties include, but are not limited to:Makes repairs to aircraft following orders of higher grade workerAssists in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systemsRemoves, cleans, reinstalls, or replaces defective parts, accessories, and components such as worn gaskets, couplings, and fittings, bad actuators, accumulators, gauges, sections of corroded fuel and oil linesSupervise the jacking and towing of aircraftMakes adjustments and settings such as cable tension and seat movement settings and adjustmentsObtains standard parts such as fuel and oil line connections and fittings, cable linkage, and spark plug cables and harnesses by referring to parts manuals and by making comparisons with samplesPerform pre-flight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspectionsEnter in the maintenance records description of the work performedBasic Qualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) and a minimum 1 year relevant experience OR 1 yr of additional education/technical school, such as an A&P courseAble to perform work in an approved environment during specified work hoursAble to change physical locations based upon need (including physical ability to travel)Ability to be subject to a variety of physical conditionsAble to wear respirator or other safety gearAbility to be subject to areas which could cause various phobias due to height or closed spacesAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret ClearancePreferred Qualifications:A&P LicensePrior E-6B/707 aircraft experienceCurrently enrolled in A&P Program or recently completed an A&P Program Primary Level Salary Range: $28.39 - $28.39The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current...
