Job Description

At Rockwell Automation, how we deliver matters as much as what we deliver. The Engineering Manager - Power is expected to model Rockwell's culture principles: integrity, diversity and inclusion, speed of decision-making, continuous improvement, and fresh thinking. The role should build an environment of trust, accountability, learning, and customer value.

Job Purpose

The Engineering Manager - Power will lead a large, multi-disciplinary team (Execution Managers and Team Leaders as Direct Reports) delivering power engineering solutions across proposals, application engineering, order execution, lifecycle support, digital tools, and customer engagement. The role requires strong people leadership, hands-on knowledge of LV MCCs, VFDs, MV starters, and MV VFDs, and proven ownership of electrical product projects from proposal to execution.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a large engineering team across Noida and/or Pune, ensuring engagement, capability building, succession planning, and performance alignment.
  • Provide strategic and operational direction for Power engineering activities covering LV/MV MCCs, LV/MV VFDs, starters, soft starters, application engineering, and electrical design deliverables.
  • Drive project lifecycle execution from RFQ review, proposal strategy, technical solutioning, estimation, clarification management, order handover, engineering, documentation, quality review, manufacturing support, and stakeholder communication.
  • Ensure deliverables meet customer specifications, applicable standards, Rockwell practices, quality expectations, schedules, and cost targets.
  • Partner with global and regional stakeholders, proposal, execution, product, manufacturing, commercial, and field support teams to deliver business outcomes.
  • Promote standardization, design reuse, digital engineering, productivity improvement, and continuous improvement across the Power organization in GEBS.
  • Provide technical guidance for complex LV/MV MCCs, MV starters, VFDs, schematics, panel layouts, bills of material, and product configuration.
  • Build team capability in engineering tools, product platforms, customer applications, standards, quality systems, and project management practices.
  • Lead resource planning, workload prioritization, risk management, escalation, and operating cadence in a high-volume engineering environment.
  • Champion Rockwell's culture of integrity, inclusion, customer value, safety, quality, collaboration, and learning.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Low Voltage Motor Control Centers, including NEMA and IEC product families, starters, feeders, VFD units, soft starters, metering, and main breaker units.
  • Medium Voltage starters, MCCs, and VFD solutions covering application, configuration, documentation, and manufacturing support.
  • Variable Frequency Drives, including LV and MV drive systems, electrical components, integration needs, heat/load considerations, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Electrical product engineering for CTO and ETO environments, including proposal, order execution, standardization, lifecycle support, and field alignment.
  • Application of relevant standards and practices such as NEC, UL, CSA, IEC, safety requirements, quality expectations, and product design rules.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree or management qualification.
  • Minimum 18 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, power products, industrial automation, proposal engineering, application engineering, product engineering, order execution, or related delivery functions.
  • Minimum 5 years in people leadership, including leading large teams, managing senior engineers or team leaders, developing talent, and driving performance in a matrixed organization.
  • Hands-on knowledge of LV MCCs, VFDs, MV starters, MV VFDs, and electrical product lifecycle from proposal to execution.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, CREO, EPLAN, and EPLAN Pro Panel; working knowledge of proposal, configuration, documentation, and Microsoft Office tools preferred.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Experience in a global engineering delivery environment supporting North America, EMEA, Asia Pacific, or other regions.
  • Exposure to CTO/ETO electrical products, proposals, application engineering, order engineering, lifecycle support, field support, and digital tools.
  • Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma, operational excellence, quality systems, and productivity initiatives.
  • Exposure to water/wastewater, oil and gas, power, manufacturing, infrastructure, mining, metals, or process industries.
  • Experience leading transformation, standardization, integration, or capability expansion initiatives.

Leadership Competencies

  • Inclusive leadership that builds trust, ownership, accountability, collaboration, and learning.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication across regional, global, commercial, product, manufacturing, and leadership teams.
  • Ability to translate business goals into priorities, execution plans, capability roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
  • conflict resolution, and change management skills.
  • Demonstrated focus on quality, productivity, customer value, employee engagement, talent development, and succession planning.
