The Director of Software Engineering will be responsible for providing visionary leadership for the software engineering department. You will oversee the delivery of a portfolio of software projects, managing resources and priorities effectively. You will be responsible for driving the execution of the software engineering roadmap, promoting innovation, and ensuring competitive capabilities by staying ahead of market and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership
- Lead and scale a team of 50+ engineers responsible for developing large-scale cloud-based software applications for the Building Automation industry
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and architectural direction across engineering teams.
Product & Technology Strategy
- Drive development of innovative software platforms integrating Building Automation platform.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and define long-term software architecture strategies to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Architecture, Business, and Engineering stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Collaborate across global teams to deliver customer-centric and market-leading Building Automation solutions.
Cloud & SaaS Development
- Lead delivery of large-scale cloud-native applications and SaaS platforms leveraging AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud technologies.
- Drive adoption of Agile, DevOps, and modern software engineering practice
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Stay current with advancements in cloud technologies, Agentic AI, IoT, data analytics, real-time systems, and Building Automation solutions.
Skills & Experience Discussed
Must Have
- 15+ years of Engineering Leadership / NPI Delivery Leadership experience.
- Proven experience leading large engineering organizations.
- Strong background in large-scale Cloud/SaaS application development and delivery.
- 10+ years of experience in the Building Automation domain.
- Hands-on experience with Building Automation Platforms.
- Strong software architecture, design, and engineering leadership capabilities.
Preferred
- Experience with Building Automation.
- Expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud platforms.
- Exposure to Agentic Ai, real-time systems, and data analytics.
- Strong Agile and DevOps experience.
