Accountabilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise risk management frameworks, policies, procedures, and governance structures.
- Manage risk programs and systems to ensure effective identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of organizational risks.
- Advise leadership on risk exposure, risk appetite, emerging threats, and appropriate control strategies.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments across operational, financial, compliance, cybersecurity, strategic, and reputational risk areas.
- Monitor risk indicators, analyze trends, and proactively identify potential issues requiring attention.
- Stay informed on regulatory updates, industry developments, and evolving expectations impacting financial institutions.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, internal control standards, and risk management best practices.
- Implement, monitor, and test risk programs, including fiduciary and SOX-related controls.
- Prepare clear risk reports, recommendations, and presentations for executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.
- Partner with internal teams to improve processes, strengthen controls, and support audit and regulatory examination activities.
- Assist with internal audits, external reviews, strategic projects, departmental planning, and initiatives that enhance the overall control environment.
- Supervise and support the development of a Risk Analyst while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
- Deliver risk management guidance and training to promote a strong, organization-wide risk culture.
- Champion responsible business practices by supporting environmental, social, economic, and racial justice commitments.
- Help identify suspicious activity, collaborate with relevant teams, and contribute to fraud prevention efforts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related discipline preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in risk management, enterprise risk, compliance, audit, or a related financial services field.
- Previous banking experience with knowledge of banking regulations, operational risk practices, and internal controls.
- Experience presenting risk insights, recommendations, and reporting to senior executives and boards.
- Strong understanding of enterprise risk management frameworks and regulatory expectations.
- Ability to analyze complex information, identify trends, evaluate exposure, and recommend practical solutions.
- Experience using data analysis, reporting tools, dashboards, and technology solutions to improve risk monitoring and efficiency.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to take ownership, manage complex initiatives, and deliver measurable outcomes.
