The Role
Key Responsibilities
Define infrastructure architecture, target-state infrastructure roadmaps, transition architectures, and modernisation plans across data centre, cloud, hybrid, network, compute, storage, virtualisation, container, and platform environments.
Establish infrastructure architecture principles, standards, reference architectures, governance models, design review mechanisms, and architecture decision frameworks.
Translate business strategy, regulatory expectations, application requirements, capacity needs, and resilience priorities into infrastructure strategy and execution roadmaps.
Lead infrastructure assessments across data centres, compute, storage, network, virtualisation, cloud, security, observability, backup, disaster recovery, and operations domains.
Design secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available infrastructure architectures for mission-critical banking and enterprise workloads.
Advise clients on infrastructure modernisation, hybrid cloud adoption, private cloud, public cloud, container platforms, software-defined infrastructure, automation, infrastructure-as-code, and operating model transformation.
Define and review infrastructure designs for data centre connectivity, workload hosting, migration planning, infrastructure integration, capacity management, performance optimisation, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
Review infrastructure implementation plans and ensure alignment with architecture intent, design goals, security requirements, regulatory compliance, performance expectations, and operational resilience needs.
Lead strategic options analysis and present clear trade-offs across cost, risk, performance, scalability, resilience, security, operational complexity, and business value.
Evaluate emerging infrastructure technologies and advise clients on suitability, risks, dependencies, benefits, and implementation considerations.
Support RFPs, solution shaping, vendor evaluations, technical due diligence, architecture governance forums, and executive presentations.
Work with OEMs, cloud providers, IT vendors, internal teams, and client stakeholders to ensure infrastructure architecture decisions are practical and executable.
Partner with security, application, operations, and business teams to align infrastructure capacity, availability, performance, and compliance with current and future business needs.
Drive modern engineering and operations practices including automation, DevSecOps, observability, FinOps, SRE principles, infrastructure-as-code, platform engineering, and operational resilience.
Support AI-enabled transformation by ensuring infrastructure readiness for AI workloads, data platforms, model hosting, GPU/accelerated compute where applicable, secure connectivity, observability, and scalable platform operations.
Serve as a subject matter expert, guide teams on infrastructure architecture principles, and mentor junior architects and engineers

Required Skills and Experience
10+ years of experience in infrastructure architecture, enterprise technology, IT transformation, cloud infrastructure, data centre modernisation, or large-scale infrastructure delivery.
Strong understanding of compute, storage, network, data centre, virtualisation, software-defined infrastructure, private cloud, public cloud, hybrid cloud, container platforms, backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure operations.
Experience defining infrastructure target-state architectures, modernisation roadmaps, architecture standards, governance models, design review processes, and technical decision frameworks.
Strong delivery experience in infrastructure assessment, capacity management, resource sizing, technical framework definition, performance optimisation, and infrastructure migration.
Experience with infrastructure migration across on-premise, private cloud, public cloud, and hybrid environments.
Strong understanding of infrastructure design for data centres, connectivity, hosting environments, migration waves, management tools, and operational support models.
Ability to create and review architecture/design documents and provide architecture assurance for project and implementation teams.
Experience identifying and resolving infrastructure performance issues, bottlenecks, capacity constraints, availability gaps, and operational risks.
Strong knowledge of infrastructure security, regulatory compliance, resilience, high availability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and sensitive data protection.
Experience with at least one major public cloud platform such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, along with private cloud or virtualisation environments such as VMware, Hyper-V, OpenShift, Kubernetes, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with modern infrastructure and operations tooling such as Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub, Azure DevOps, monitoring/observability platforms, ITSM tooling, CMDB, backup/recovery tools, and infrastructure management platforms.
Understanding of automation, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD for infrastructure, policy-as-code, DevSecOps, observability, FinOps, SRE, and platform engineering practices.
Ability to develop business cases, infrastructure transformation roadmaps, architecture blueprints, executive-level recommendations, and implementation guidance.
Strong stakeholder management, presentation, and executive communication skills.
Ability to work across infrastructure, application, security, cloud, data, operations, vendors, and business stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
5+ years experience in banking or financial services.
Experience designing or reviewing infrastructure for core banking, digital banking, payment systems, enterprise applications, high-volume transaction platforms, data platforms, and regulated workloads.
Hands-on or working experience with Enterprise Architecture tools such as Mega HOPEX, Avolution ABACUS, Planview, Orbus iServer, or equivalent.
OEM or expert-level certifications across compute, storage, network, virtualisation, cloud, cybersecurity, or infrastructure platforms are preferred.
Experience with operating model design, vendor evaluation, technology investment prioritisation, build-vs-buy decisions, and infrastructure service transformation.
Familiarity with AI infrastructure patterns, GPU/accelerated compute, data platform architecture, secure model hosting, vector databases, AI observability, and responsible AI infrastructure governance.
Exposure/experience with zero-trust infrastructure, network segmentation, software-defined networking, cloud security posture management, workload protection, identity-based security, and infrastructure compliance automation.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, or equivalent.
MCA, M.Tech, M.Sc., or equivalent postgraduate qualification is acceptable.
MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is desirable.
