Accountabilities:
- Provide technical leadership by designing scalable, secure software architectures while mentoring engineers and establishing strong development practices.
- Lead hands-on development of modern applications using React, Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies to support mission-critical operational environments.
- Design, build, and maintain secure cloud-based applications and APIs using Microsoft Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Develop software solutions that integrate with RFID technologies, handheld scanners, mobile devices, and peripheral hardware to support logistics, inventory management, and asset visibility.
- Collaborate directly with defense stakeholders, program teams, and end users to gather requirements, validate solutions, and deliver reliable capabilities.
- Design and implement systems that operate within secure enterprise environments while addressing cybersecurity, performance, interoperability, and reliability requirements.
- Partner with product and engineering teams to define technical requirements, estimate development efforts, manage backlogs, and support agile delivery processes.
- Conduct code reviews, guide engineering decisions, and promote best practices across software development teams.
- Collaborate with UX designers, systems engineers, infrastructure teams, and other stakeholders to deliver solutions from concept through deployment.
- Support continuous improvement and innovation by identifying opportunities to enhance products, processes, and technical capabilities.
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience developing enterprise-level applications.
- Proven experience leading software development teams, mentoring engineers, and providing technical direction.
- Strong proficiency in React, Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript/TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and REST API development.
- Experience designing and deploying applications in Microsoft Azure environments.
- Working knowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
- Active Security+ certification required.
- Experience working with Army, Department of Defense, government, or similarly complex enterprise environments preferred.
- Strong understanding of secure software development, system integration, and mission-critical application delivery.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience leading agile development teams, managing technical backlogs, and supporting sprint execution.
- Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
- U.S. citizenship required, with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance; active clearance preferred.
- Additional experience with CKAD or equivalent Kubernetes certifications, mobile applications, RFID integrations, barcode scanners, or defense technology solutions is a plus.
- Competitive salary range of $100,000 to $190,000 USD, depending on skills, experience, education, certifications, and other factors.
