**Introduction** Join our IBM Corporate Security team as a Senior International Investigator, and play a critical role in protecting IBM's people, assets, and innovation. You will lead complex investigations fraud, insider risk, policy violations, and other threats to the business. You will work closely with internal stakeholders including Legal, HR, Compliance, and regional leadership, as well as external partners such as law enforcement and industry peers. As a senior member of the team, you will manage and delivery high-quality investigative outcomes, leveraging data analysis, open-source intelligence, and structured investigative methodologies. You will also provide strategic insights, identify emerging risks, and contribute to continuous improvement of investigative proceses and security controls. **Your role and responsibilities** The IBM Legal department and other internal business leaders rely on sound fact-based information to make decisions pertaining to crimes and other illegal activities affecting IBM, joint investigations with external investigative bodies, and other contentious matters. Investigations professionals are trained in the rules of evidence, investigative techniques, and relevant laws to perform as 'fact finder' and investigations liaison for IBM. As a Senior International Investigator (Corporate Security Investigations), you will have the following roles and responsibilities: * Plan, coordinate, and conduct investigations of alleged and suspected violations of law including theft, fraud, computer crimes, and workplace violence. * Procure information to assist senior leaders in understanding IBM's exposures in all matters under investigation. * Serve as a subject matter expert on investigative strategies, and provides advice and counsel to the business about appropriate approaches for individual engagements. * Employ interview techniques to question internal and external individuals about facts pertaining to matters under investigation. * Establish relationships with law enforcement and other investigative bodies to enable the Investigations team to act as liaison to all external investigators. * Where appropriate manage relations with other investigative bodies within IBM as well as working closely with the Intelligence and Insider Trust functions. * Be able to work with all different units and, where necessary, provide leadership. An investigator always works as part of the global team. * Investigators manage complex investigations as projects, engaging all relevant stakeholders and leading the investigation to conclusion. This involves compiling complex facts into digestible reports for internal, executive, and external consumption, and analyzing past engagements for continuous improvement, and giving testimony before judicial and legislative bodies in legal proceedings pertaining to relevant investigations. * Be responsible for conducting Root Cause Analysis, to identify underlying issues that resulted in an incident or enabled policy violations, and articulate and supervise the implementation of improvements to IBM's control posture. * Be responsible for the evaluation of new investigative aids and techniques, and for advising the business on the appropriateness of employing new approaches within IBM. * Information collected and maintained may be subject to legal, regulatory, or corporate policies; practitioners must be aware of all relevant provisions and maintain information accordingly. **Required technical and professional expertise** * Experience (5+ years) as a Senior Investigator is a prerequisite. * Professional accredited investigative interviewing skills and experience. * Must be able to relate and present cases, to appropriate external authorities including Law Enforcement officials in any EMEA country. * Strong IT skills across operating systems, including standard Office tools such as Word, Excel etc. * Demonstrate innovative and creative thinking as well as problem-solving skills. * Demonstration of a continuing ability to self-teach. * Ability to take end-to-end ownership of engagements. * Attention to detail and structured mindset to manage information logically. * Strong team player comfortable in joining a small distributed team but with the ability to work independently. * Generally a strong affinity with information technology, specifically an understanding of the cyber-crime environment. * Fluent in English and Spanish. * Readiness to travel up to 10% annually (travel may be required as per business demand). **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Relevant professional investigation qualifications are a plus. * Experience in the hands-on review and analysis of potentially large volumes of data. * Experience in the use of analytical tools and open source tools, to analyse and present data. * Experience in working in a multi-national company. * Virtual / hybrid work environment is preferred. * Lead & manage inter-disciplinary teams as part of investigations and projects. * Additional languages (one or more preferred): French, German, Portugese, Arabic.
