All Jobs  >  ** Quality Engineer Apply ** Quality Engineer Middleton, WI Apply Job Type Full-time Description Summary:The Quality Engineer reports directly to the Plant Manager and represents and supports all Corporate Quality initiatives and will act as a liaison between Corporate departments (Engineering, Product Managers, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Quality Management) and the Middleton Manufacturing Plant when dealing with Quality related subject matters.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Measure/monitor assembly processes through first pass yield to drive continuous process improvementDevelop and implement robust corrective actions for field related concernsSupport Mfg. Engineering teams in the development of new process and test equipmentPractice the use of quality tools: 8D problem solving, Six Sigma, FMEA, control plans and SPCManage the day to day of Quality Technicians, Lead training on Quality related subject matterPerform other Quality related duties and responsibilities as assignedKey Performance Indicators (KPI’s):SafetyWarranty – ProductWarranty - Shipping  RMA’s - days to close ScrapFPY OTD Requirements Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:  Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related technical field 5+ years of Quality Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred Knowledge/use of quality tools such as: 8D problem solving, Control Plans, and SPCTechnical aptitude in electronics assembly preferredProficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, at all levels of an organizationPhysical/Mental Essential Functions:Ability to input data into computers and departmental systemsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents and manualsAbility to interact / communicate effectively with customers, employees, and external personal Effectively communicate in English orally and in writing.Ability to identify, communicate, and help prevent potential problems Ability to solve practical problems within established parametersAbility to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Ability to deal with time sensitive situations on an ongoing basisAbility to follow a set of procedures or set sequencesAbility to work in a fast pace environment Must be efficient with strong attention to detailWork Conditions:Work in an office environment and routinely on the Manufacturing Plant production lines. Routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Work hours are primarily on first shift and are based on Plant Production needs.  Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice as assigned by the Manager.
