Accountabilities:
- Manage complex, high-exposure property claims from first notice of loss through resolution, including represented and large-loss files, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely outcomes.
- Interpret insurance policies, assess coverage, and determine liability while preparing clear documentation such as reservation of rights and settlement letters.
- Conduct thorough investigations, including recorded statements, site inspections, and coordination with external parties such as fire departments, police, and vendors.
- Draft and review damage estimates using industry tools, ensuring precision in evaluating dwelling, structure, and contents losses.
- Negotiate settlements with attorneys, public adjusters, and other stakeholders to achieve fair and equitable resolutions.
- Maintain accurate file documentation, manage diary systems, and oversee vendor assignments and payments efficiently across multiple jurisdictions.
- 3+ years of first-party property claims adjusting experience with a carrier, including handling claims with exposure up to $100,000.
- Strong knowledge of policy interpretation, coverage analysis, and multi-state insurance regulations and compliance standards.
- Experience handling represented claims and working directly with attorneys and public adjusters, with proven negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency with claims systems and tools such as Xactimate, XactAnalysis, Excel, Snapsheet, Slack, and CRM platforms.
- Ability to write detailed coverage letters, denial letters, and maintain high-quality claim documentation.
- Strong investigative skills, including conducting recorded statements and identifying fraud indicators or subrogation opportunities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to guide customers through complex and sensitive situations with empathy.
- Preferred experience with litigation processes such as mediation or depositions, plus mentoring or supporting junior team members.
- Competitive salary range of $80,000–$100,000 plus equity through Restricted Stock Units (RSUs)
