DNV Cyber is strengthening its commercial capabilities to support an ambitious growth strategy focused on helping customers improve the resilience of critical infrastructure through cybersecurity. 

The Bid Manager will play a critical role in improving how DNV Cyber wins business. This is a dual-purpose role combining hands-on delivery of complex bids with the development of scalable bid capabilities across the organization. 

The successful candidate will help create a more structured, consistent and efficient approach to bidding—enabling teams to develop high-quality proposals at scale, while directly supporting high-value opportunities. The role contributes directly to improving proposal quality, strengthening governance and increasing win rate over time. 

Main responsibilities

The Bid Manager will work across commercial, technical and support functions to strengthen both bid execution and long-term capability across the organization:

Bid capability and process improvement

  • Develop and maintain practical tools, templates and guidance that enable teams to create high-quality bids independently

  • Establish clear, consistent bidding processes, including governance across finance, legal and pricing

  • Capture lessons learned and build best practices that improve proposal quality over time 

  • Explore opportunities to use AI and automation to improve efficiency, quality and reuse of bid content.
     

Complex bid management

  • Lead and coordinate complex, high-value and multi-service bids from kick-off to submission

  • Structure and manage cross-functional bid teams, timelines and deliverables 

  • Ensure proposals meet high standards of quality, clarity and customer relevance 

  • Work closely with sales, account teams, delivery teams and business leaders to ensure proposals are commercially strong and well-positioned.


Collaboration and stakeholder alignment

  • Partner with sales, technical experts, delivery teams and corporate functions to deliver successful bids

  • Act as a trusted advisor, bringing structure, clarity and discipline to complex opportunities.

Essential knowledge, skills and experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in bid management, proposal management or tender management in a B2B services environment

  • Proven ability to coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder bids 

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to structure work and drive progress across teams

  • Strong experience in building establishing and improving organizational bidding capabilities and processes, preferably within a B2B services organization

  • Strong commercial awareness, including understanding of pricing and proposal positioning 

  • Excellent written English and ability to develop clear, high-quality proposal content

  • Ability to manage detail while maintaining the overall view of the bid process

  • Highly collaborative, with experience working across regions, functions and cultures 
  • Strong communication skills, able to engage credibly with sales colleagues, technical experts and executive management 
  • A results-focused self-starter with a growth mindset who can work under pressure and to tight deadlines

  • Able to embrace agile ways of working, with an openness to adapt and shift priorities when new requirements emerge

  • Willing to put new ideas and opinions on the table and act upon them and actively seek inspiration from a broad range of sources.
