About the role D-Wave is seeking a Senior Algorithms Developer to design, develop, and optimize advanced algorithms for real-world, high-impact problems. You will work closely with researchers, engineers, and product teams to build high-performance, production-ready algorithmic solutions, including hybrid, classical, and emerging computing approaches. This role blends research thinking with strong software engineering practices.What you'll doDesign, implement, and optimize algorithms for complex optimization and machine learning problemsWrite high-quality, well-tested, and well-documented production codeCollaborate with researchers and engineers to translate ideas into scalable softwarePrototype, evaluate, and improve algorithmic performance through experimentationParticipate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and best-practice initiativesStay current with state-of-the-art algorithmic and optimization techniquesAbout YouBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field5+ years of professional experience developing algorithms and production softwareStrong proficiency in Python; experience with C++ or similar languages is a plusSolid background in algorithms, data structures, and computational complexityExperience with optimization, machine learning, or numerical methodsKnowledge of linear algebra, graph theory, or combinatorial optimizationAbility to read, understand, and implement research papersExperience delivering end-to-end software projects, from design to deploymentStrong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skillsNice to HaveExperience with optimization solvers or ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, JAX, NumPy) Exposure to hybrid or advanced computing paradigms Research or applied R&D background A D-Waver's DNAWe look at the future and say “why not”; we see possibilities where others see problems or routines.
